ALPHA DOG: ISRAEL ABRAMS (MIAMI COMMIT)

We called Israel Abrams an artist after Day 1 and he painted an absolute masterpiece on Day 2 as he had our favorite Pro Day performance of the night. The No. 2-ranked quarterback in the Top247 not only posted the highest score for us at 41 points, but fired more dimes than anyone else with seven exceptional throws.

Abrams used a rapid release to glide through the first few stations before showcasing pinpoint accuracy in the deeper third. He put coverage-beaters on sharp lines to the perimeter, but was also able to change speeds and use the proper loft to lead wide receivers.

What also stood out about Abrams' Pro Day was the overall energy and attitude. He was the last finalist to go through the gauntlet and never faded even though some of the pass-catchers running routes were losing steam.

There certainly might be some recency bias coming into play, but we can confidently say that the session from Abrams was as good as any session we have seen at the Elite 11 Finals since the global pandemic in 2020. The peaks were extremely encouraging.

Reassuring statement considering elite 11 is a who’s who of quarterbacks and we’ve already seen multiple first rounders shine since the pandemic

Would be wild if Ryan Rakowski is the only non-p4 quarterback come signing day; he’s looked good out there. Someone should take a flyer on him.

Will be interesting to see if how Elijah Haven is ranked by the elite11 staff because the media evaluators aren’t as hyped on him as the actual rankers. He may lose his #1 ranking

Hopefully Abrams is everything we expect. We have had some really good transfer QBs but they have been one and done. We need a QB who can be here for multiple years. Mensah will probably be a one and done too but he does have 2 years of eligibility, so there hope at least lol.

Peter Bourque should be one of the oldest freshman or youngest sophomores, however, he reclassified back a year. Now, he will be 20 before VT’s first game in 2027.

The new NCAA rules will limit him from having five years of eligibility; he’ll only have four. Might not end up mattering for him however kinda important to know when evaluating him versus kids who are 2 years+ younger than him like Izzy.

Need?

Good kid nice interview. Need to handcuff Abrams to Baby Jesus so he's in the playbook and film room and on the practice field all day long come winter break. That interview shows he's not seeing sophisticated defenses in HS.

Franklin is cooking up something at Va Tech. With Clemson, FSU and UNC unable to get out of their own way, I could see them making a move sooner rather than later.

He gets hated on a ton however he did some remarkable work at Vandy and Penn State…before him; the last coach at Vandy who had an over .500 record was in the early 70s & had Bill Parcels as his DC.

In addition to Bourque, they have three solid quarterbacks in the room rn. Should be able to get them going rather quickly. Guy has won **** near 70% of his total games.
