Eh. I'm pretty sure Golden will find a firing on his own merit. But I do think that the more of this we see the more toxic the job gets for a guy with options--which puts us in a position to hire the next Al Golden.
pretty **** poor line of thinking. loser speak.
a real coach looks at the players on this team and the access to the best talent in the country and gets a boner. F/A/Gs product speaks for itself to anyone with a very small amount of football knowledge.
the banners just put more pressure on the admin to do something about it. other programs that are serious about winning dont have to worry about banners cus they would have fired F/A/G in the offseason
Boy that sounds good. But somewhere in reality the last three coaches we've hired are Coker, Shannon, and Golden. We don't pay our coaches much and we don't dedicate the greatest resources. And now our newest reality is that the same fanbase that can't be bothered to go to a games is flying more banners than anyone in history. That sounds like a decent sell to the up and coming assistant or to the Temple coach, but to a guy like Gary Patterson or Rich Rodriguez? Maybe not so much.
Personally I think Golden's mediocrity is doing a good enough job to get him fired. That will be his undoing IMO--the team underachieves, the games are empty, the former players are upset. That will get him fired just like it did Coker and Shannon. The more of the banner stuff we see, the more of a mockery this becomes and the job gets even less attractive IMO. That's why a lot of people are praying we get Butch--because he's probably the one guy out there who seems somewhat proven and that might fall into our lap. Otherwise, get ready for the next Al Golden and hoping that this time we get it right.
You said the product speaks for itself which is right. Yet we think we have to fly banners every week to tell people what they can see.
