Lol haha. U guys deal in pity. Golden is a con artist. He's arrogant and thinned skinned. He thinks we are stupid and is condescending with his remarks. I feel not one bit of sympathy for a guy who makes millions whether he is fired or not. He is destroying our team. ESPN clowned us, called us candy canes. And not one but of outrage from anyone with power. Do they care, does it matter...no they double down on failure. I will donate to fly a banner every game until they are gone. Period.

Eh. I'm pretty sure Golden will find a firing on his own merit. But I do think that the more of this we see the more toxic the job gets for a guy with options--which puts us in a position to hire the next Al Golden.

a real coach looks at the players on this team and the access to the best talent in the country and gets a boner. F/A/Gs product speaks for itself to anyone with a very small amount of football knowledge.

the banners just put more pressure on the admin to do something about it. other programs that are serious about winning dont have to worry about banners cus they would have fired F/A/G in the offseason

Yep. Any decent, confident coach will look at what Folden's done here and laugh at him. He'll wonder what took the fans so long to start an uproar. If a coach gets turned off by fans looking to get rid of a loser failure, then he's not the right guy for this job.

The really super dumb guys still don't understand that it's not the fans at the stadium seeing it that matters; it's the media attention that it gets that matters. Their undeveloped brains can't seem to grasp the concept that it doesn't matter how many people at the stadium see it.

The staff's inability to win games is what hurts recruiting. Not banners. Anyone that sits here and says this will hurt recruiting has to also say that Al Golden's game day coaching hurts recruiting too.

Al Golden's four years at Miami have been fraught with disappointment, and its 4-3 start to the 2014 season is no exception. One fan is so fed up with the performance of the Hurricanes' football program that he has started a fundraising campaign in hopes of hiring a plane to fly a banner carrying the message "Fire Al Golden" in Blacksburg, Va. on Saturday, where the 'Canes are set to take on the Virginia Tech Hokies. name withheld, the angry Miami fan in question, has already met his $1,580 fundraising goal just four days after it launched. The donation page says that the banner will be flown between 5:30 and 6:15 p.m., a few hours before the 8 p.m. kickoff.

Despite recruiting near the top of the ACC during every year -- even amid the once-grave threat of NCAA penalties -- the on-field product for the Hurricanes has consistently fallen well short of expectations. In fact, the 'Canes have still never won the ACC Coastal, a division they were expected to dominate when they joined the league in 2004. Miami tied for first place in the Coastal Division in 2012 but voluntarily withdrew from postseason competition in order to curry favor with the NCAA, which was investigating Miami's athletics department at the time.

Golden has a 26-18 overall record as Miami's head coach and a 14-13 record against conference opponents. Prior to coming to Miami, Golden turned around a once-desolate Temple program, posting back-to-back winning seasons with the Owls in 2009 and 2010.

Agreed. There may have only been a few thousand fans that saw the banner in person. But Yahoo, ESPN, CBS, as well as local beat writers got wind of it and it made its rounds on social media. The message got sent, and it will get sent again on Thursday.
