BAMA often ran zero coverage and put 11 men on the line at times. Once Miami set, Bama, just before the snap, would morph into the coverage. Our strength on the back half of a great defense matched up perfectly with Miami's strength coming in. Lamar Thomas had no idea the caliber of DBs we had. As good as some of our D-linemen were, our DBs, including safeties here, were as special as anything we've seen in the Nick Saban era. More so, I believe. When Gino Torretta said "he couldn't remember the second half" it was because our DBs just shut down the show on the backend.
