SJ and Merriweather can hold things down...until we get to Nov 7th... and then that is when things could fall off the rails. The thought of SJ going up against ND is not something I want to think about. Lets hope MB is back by then or Merriweather is ready to go by then. I will give SJ the respect that he can handle the likes of FSU, Pitt and UNC. He handled himself pretty well against Clemson. But ND is a whole nother beast.

He goes against our guys all day every day. And the coaches are playing him for a reason. I agree with you he deserves the respect instead of the constant "fan support" we get on here. If moving Cantwell out and Mccoy inside were even remotely better, Mario and Mirabal would've done it in the easy part of the schedule. So they must feel, watchig SJ daily, that he is better inside with McCoy than the other combo.

If you watch the game it was a non-contact injury. Minimal, if anything to do with S&C

Well, no guarantee this is not season-ending, just what Dee is hearing. But, if so, it could be a meniscus trim (4-6 weeks), loose body removal (2-4 wks), or a minor stabilization or localized debridement of the MCL, 4-8 weeks. Hope for the best.

Unless you have someone totally incompetent, it's just bad luck. Last year, we had some good luck.

Yes, though I think we will rotate #71 in for a few series a game. We started SJ at LG for the first 4 games, then he came in when Max got hurt and played his best game of the year. Think there is zero chance anyone other than SJ going to be the starting RG against FSU.
