He was going to start this year. Bama has at least 6 5 star cornerbacks. We have had 1 of those in the past decade.

Not really, he is just very bleak in his opinions, unfortunately under the last regime bleak was in, I am of the group in believing in Mark Richt, and patient enough to see how it all plays out. Some of the arguments and reasons for or against simply don't equate. Only time will tell.

as of Today, yes, we can all assume Smith is better than redwine. Seemingly has all the physical ability and has been coached by Smart and Saban for the last three years as opposed to paul Williams and D'nofrio.

Redwine may be better as a senior who knows but we're adding depth of a very solid prospect late in the game in a position of need. There is NO negative to this

Why you arguing with a dope? Bama took grad transfer Jacob Coker, who was a career back-up at FSU, started him and won a national title. Every school in the nation is going to take a quality grad student to fill an area of need if available. By all accounts this kid was going to start for Alabama this year at least in nickle, which means he was going to be on the field a lot. He helps us immediately.

Vern isn't a dope, he's just stuck in the glory days. Hopefully Brother Richt brings us back to those days.
 
Smith has the speed & ability needed to solidify the secondary...would definitely be a great pickup! Would prolly start day one!
 
If nothing else this adds quality depth to our secondary for a year which is sorely in need of some. Great news....as long as it gets to the finish line, that is.
 
why anybody is upset about the pickup is beyond me....We are 1 injury away from Terrance Henley getting meaningful snaps. We need depth guys.

Easy way to spot someone who doesnt actually know football. Starters play about 70 percent of the game. More or less. Football isnt the best 22. Thats why they give you 85 ships

Would be an absolute monster pickup not because he's Charles Woodson but because our CB situation is a mess. This is a solid vet who has been in big moments and can play. That immediately vaults him over most of our CBs.

I don't want to be in nickel or dime with a spread coach like Fedora feasting on Henley and/or Mayes.
