That fake *** drama laden bs has nothing to do with being a grown man or teaching a **** thing. He used Pope as a segment for content. Not sure how some of y’all can’t see the difference. It was like watching coaching with the Kardashians. He’s just as thirsty for attention as any instagram Thot.
We live in an instagram world players use it to get likes, **** on programs, grow the brand etc. Then when the tables get turned its an issue. Most ppl on here had ZERO problems with Ed Reed sending cryptic tweets about Diaz on social media. Why?

Deion is an attention ***** but so are basically all of the ppl involved in college football. I'm over this pobresito **** all this social media stuff is a double edge sword that cuts both ways. Use it and be used by it. All these 20 somethings know that.

Maybe so. But i am not apologizing for it.

Nor should you. Nor is anyone asking you to.

The fact remains, this is a Miami board. And it would be one thing if there were semi-occasional Leach, Kiffin, Norvell, Deion threads on the board.

But it rarely stops there. Because the TRUE Kiffin *********** and Deion ****suckers don't stop at saying a few nice words about their man-crushes. They somehow manage to turn it into attacks on everyone who has coached at Miami over the past few decades.

Me personally? I went to UM when Deion went to F$U. No matter what Deion represents, you're never going to get me to like him. I don't like Deion for a LOT of reasons, but it's not soley "because he went to F$U". That's just where it BEGAN for me.

I also wouldn't tell someone else NOT to like Deion. The real problem is the combination of "boasting about some other coach" while "tearing down everything about Miami". Now that just goes too far, at least on this board.

So Deions mindset was "hmm Pope needs to be put on blast. I know just the thing, we'll put it on my documentary. Just to help him learn as he moves on in life"

Respectfully, yeah right.

I can respect this point of view. I am not naive. If i am being honest, you are probably right in that Deion’s INTENTIONS were not pure. With that said, I absolutely do believe, at minimum, that even if it was just about “content”, I believe the brother gave it some thought (wasn’t released immediately) and determined Pope didn’t warrant any consideration for how it may make him feel. Yall want to have an honest convo about that then i can do that.

But i dont want to hear about poor Pope and how messed up it is to him.

You think he care about what the team thinks? I doubt it. Some people need to be put on blast.
For millions of people to watch ? The team is one thing but to do it for cameras and all of the country to see is f’d up. Could you imagine if a coach did the same thing to this egomaniac when he played? He’d had his emotional panties in a bunch doing interviews the next month straight.

Time to stop coddling these boys/men.

“Awwww you embarrassed him! Thats not right! You so mean!”

Some “real kids” steal, are thieves, and get made to have to wear a sign in public saying what they did”

Act right! Stop taking kindness for weakness! Which is what you are doing when the coach handled it in house 5011 other times, and you STILL disrespectful!? Nah, take this embarrassment now and gtfo.

Dudes gonna melt down when Deion continues to succeed.

Continues to succeed? I am sorry, where did he succeed already in order to continue? He couldn't beat lower level teams with P5 talent! LOL

Also, stop coddling? I am sorry, where in the world in any profession is calling people out in front of the entire world to see to dismiss them an acceptable practice?
Spoiler alert, nowhere. This is just Diva Deion being the lousy douche that he is.

it’s all fake outrage. this has nothing to do with the cameras and more to do with Deion. you don’t see anyone complaining about Hard Knocks.

I have never seen a coach on Hard Knocks: (1) have an open discussion and (fake) vote with the team about cutting a professional football player; (2) blatantly sway that discussion by pushing back every single call for leniency or understanding; or (3) cut a professional football player from the team in front of the entire team.

You are right that it has more to do with Deion, though. But that's only because Deion makes everything about Deion.

Where did he start at in coaching? If you know the answer then you will know the error in your statement. It wasnt JSU.

See this is what i am talking about. This is why its hard in this coaching game for black head coaches. Cant even acknowledge the job he did and the rise to where he is now.

A lot of people getting soft in this world. A dose of reality goes a long way sometimes. Sometimes getting embarrassed (If he was even embarrassed) goes a lot further than just quietly shooing him out the door with good luck behind it. This is like when I got a DUI. I know what i did is probably more extensive but from an embarrassment aspect its the same. Everybody saw my mug shot and it was totally embarrassing to myself, family and peers. I learned a lot from that as so should he. Don't do stupid things and you wont embarrass yourself.

I mean, you're not wrong. I think he meant to discuss Deion's college coaching career only, but you're not wrong.

My favorite college coach growing up in Orlando in the 70s and mid 80s was Eddie Robinson. And, granted, there weren't a lot of great college coaches in Florida at that time (Bowden was just getting started and Schnellenberger was hampered by probation early). But rooting for the Bucs and Doug Williams led me to learn about Grambling and Eddie Robinson years before "Grambling's White Tiger" came on TV.

When I was younger, I always wondered if Eddie might make the move to a bigger school. It wasn't until later that I had the perspective to realize how old he was and how long he'd been at Grambling, and it just seems like he missed his window.

One of the greatest to ever do it, though. And I'm glad that Deion is doing his thing, even if I'm not a fan of his personally. I will be REALLY happy to follow Ed Reed's career, at one point Bethune-Cookman was probably a more well-known football school in Orlando than old Florida Tech (FTU)/UCF. I'll bet @SWFLHurricane remembers old FTU...

😒😒 Dion ain’t had to do that boy like that. Can have dismissed him in private. He embarrass him in front of his teammates, friends, class mate. Can have call kid to the office and do this in private.

Eddie Robinson is a GOAT. I don’t think Deion can ever live up to that. But for me, thats ok. Everyone journey is important.

I am soooooooo excited for Ed Reed. Aw man it is going to be sooo fun watching him on his journey. Plenty people doubted him too in terms of his ability to coach and relay the knowledge he has.

Embarrassing him in front of the team is enough.

When I was a teacher and coach (not football), I used to say "a public act of disrespect will have a public consequence." If a student got out of pocket in front of the class, the repercussion delivered in front of the class. If a player did something that was detrimental to the team, the actions and consequences would be raised in front of the team. But that doesn't mean you take the kid to the auditorium to broadcast the punishment to the entire school, let alone publish it on a global platform like Amazon Prime.

Here's another scumbag angle: Prime Time is produced by SMAC Productions, which is a wholly owned subdivision of SMAC Entertainment. SMAC Entertainment is basically Deion Sanders's marketing/branding/management agent and their website lists him as represented "talent" along with other "clients". What does this mean and why does this matter? It means Deion Sanders is almost certainly getting compensated for his appearance on the show (his show), so when he decides to stage something like this for the cameras, this "reformed man of God" is likely lining his pocket's off embarrassing a young man in his early 20s in front of a camera on a global platform.
