Bull****! Why Deion gotta put this **** on the documentary? That ain’t cool. He could have easily just pulled Pope out and told him, “hey dude. This ain’t working. You gotta go.” Doin **** like this…. poisons the chance that this kid may get at other schools. He totally manipulated that voting situation. In a courtroom, if a lawyer does this, it’s called “leading the witness”.
 
I would use this to negative recruit Colorado, you want to go play for this guy he only cares about himself, everything is really about him, he wants to look good. He wants the cameras following him around to make a show. He might even embarrass you to put hisself on a pedestal.
 
As much as coaches wanna preach family and cohesion, we all know the truth. No body really give a F about you at the end of the day. It’s just like working a 9-5 in the rat race. With that being said, I agree with a poster earlier who said this should be done behind closed doors. Sanders knew what he had to do but made a spectacle out of it,.. this is the kind of S$&@ that make ninjas wanna kill themselves. If pope attempted the aforementioned, I wonder what sanders would say then?

He’ll get it real fast in my wire cutting room 6:00 AM -TILL 12-14 hours a day none stop work with a warehouse fan that’s it.

Then again, I’ll pass WE GOOD.

Not problem at all with the way this was handled. MP kicked himself off the squad....don't like it? How about try not to place urself in position where this can happen. In life there's consequences, and agreed upon or not, this SHOULD make MP a better person in the long run.
 
I know there are some Neon suckers on this board. But while most of us knew he was only about himself, we just got confirmation hes a coward. Maybe Pope should go. But Neon, and Neon alone should have made that call and not put the onus of voting out a kid in front of the kid like that. If someone needs to go, Neon should have pulled the kid aside (off camera) and told him himself and try to steer the man towards better decisions in the future.

Glad that Pope got his paper, but that doesn‘t absolve Neon of being a coward and passing the buck of cutting a kid to other kids.

This makes me really glad Mario is our coach. I can;t see him doing someone dirty like this.

Man a lot to digest with that

1. What did Pope do? (Just my curiosity, sounds like he deserved to be let go if a majority of the team said yes)

2. I'm not opposed to a team meeting to discuss the situation, but not on camera. This was done for a TV snippet

3. See 2, should've been behind closed doors

4. Deion definitely knew he was letting him go but would continue steering the conversation away from giving him another chance. Comes across fake and slimy

5. How bad is our locker room? Good lord

I know Deion isn’t the most popular guy around these parts right now, but if he(and the other players) decided to get rid of Pope like this, just imagine how toxic our lockerroom was.

Hate to say it, but all these players transferring out is probably a good thing.

This is part of what Mario was dealing with this year for sure. Got too many kids who would rather worry about taking photos in gas stations with fancy cars than playing football.

Previous coaching staffs did a very poor job of evaluating character of the recruits they brought in. The locker room has been a mess for a long time. We never know how bad it is till years later but more and more things are showing us how ugly it really was.

Hopefully by next year and with another class Mario will start to turn the culture around to kids who care about each other and the program! That’s what you need to win just as much as talent.

Deion seems more like the kind of guy that jerks off to pictures of himself while playing himself talking in the background.
