I think everything in the "talent" argument refers back to previous recruiting classes with no regard for where those players are now.

Their offensive line is coached better and set up to work with the lack of talent they have. They put their kids in position to win. Give wake our lineman and they go undefeated this year.


If stars dont matter then name the last team to win a NC with less than 50% blue chip ratio.

We need 7 years of recruiting. Same excuses every year and every new coach.


Meanwhile USC is undefeated with a new coach and new system.

what the blue chip ratio dummies don't understand and never will is that the ratio treats 5 top 50 kids on a roster the same as 5 kids ranked from 350-400, even though the data says there is a MASSIVE talent gap between the two groups

the data says the 5 top 50 kids are going to have a significant chance of becoming all-conference/nfl draft picks while the 5 kids ranked from 350-400 have almost the same chance of becoming all-conference/nfl draft picks as the kids ranked below them in the 400-1000 range

Bama/UGA/Clemson/Ohio St have loaded up with the first group and the vast majority of our 4* kids have been on the outside looking in of where the kids who most consistently give you a talent advantage rank

and if people still want to argue against that just point them to the last 6 years of NFL draft picks coming out of Coral Gables

No, no......I asked you to show us why their OL is less talented without you looking up their star rating. Like, what is it about Devonte Gordon that makes him a mere 3-star?

Neither. That's the black and white issue that so many of our fans can't get around.

We have the talent to beat MTSU, and we didn't lose because the coaching staff came in and messed things up. Too many people think the argument is one or the other.

That's the same stupid argument. Yes, we are MUCH more talented than MTSU. But talented teams crap the bed all the time, especially when they have no interest in winning the game.

lulz, now I know you've never watched a Wake Forest game under Clawson in your life

28 first downs, 450 yards of total offense and 38 pts against Clemson but the OL is why they aren't undefeated

You're right. Blue chip ratio hasn't factored in transfers yet. So lets look at actual rosters via the Team Talent Composite

This does factor in transfers in and out of a program. Miami is still sitting at 13th in the country's talent rankings. 46 out of 83 players are "blue chips" Of those 46 blue chips, 10 of which are true freshman.

Again, I've never said we should be a playoff team this year, but nuance matters. Miami has already underperformed season expectations. Miami has lost 3 very winnable games. MTUS, obviously, another loss to the basketball school, and a loss to an aTm team that lost at home to App State with an offense more anemic than ours.

I'm arguing with better coaching we're winning all of those games. Cristobal needs to be a better coach. He needs better players too, but what we have has not lived up to this season's expectations.

And I would rather lose now while our proven head coach is getting things in the program straightened out. I can see that there is a bigger picture.
