Losers play for the field goal

That's the NFL. Diaz ain't coaching in the NFL, or ever will. There's an ocean of difference between an NFL kicker and an 18 year old freshman college kicker.
We cant baby the kids forever. Coach em up and expect them to perform. We want him to let the young guys play at every other position right? Let's not be hypocrites about the freshmen playing. He missed. It wasnt the wrong decision, he just missed. I understand everyones frustration with Manny but this ain't it.

Do you have anything constructive to add to the convo? And yes my Madden game is second to none.
Also if we score and then blow it guess who gets fired anyways. So as a politician Manny was picking the option that would assign him the least blame should it go wrong not making the best decision to win us the game. Playing not to lose aka scared. So he is toast and deserves it.

obviously it wasn't the wrong decision on 4th down, but running half-assed dives straight into the line on 1st and 2nd down with no intention of advancing the ball was the wrong decision.

He was toast in my book even if we won. In that situation, why score with time on the clock, if I could score with no time left on the clock. A FG gives you the best option to take the lead with no time left. It was the better option.

“Football knowledge”?? Please show me an example of a team down 2 in the Redzone being questioned for going for a GW 30 yard kick after getting nothing on 1st and 2nd down…it was the right decision. Kid didn’t execute the kick…ppl who think otherwise are just being disingenuous and piling on. I get why it’s happening tho..our performance has brought this on..I just can’t participate in because I have football knowledge lol
Explain to me the series of defensive calls he made on the last drive of the half where we gave up a huge momentum killing TD to Virginia or you can wait for Lance to eviscerate him in his recap in a couple days then admit you don't know what you are looking at.

Now that I can agree with. The run plays we called were straight trash considering what had been working on the drive.

They didn't get nothing, they opted to do nothing. The plays called were not intended to gain yardage, just kill time. It was obvious watching it. We lined up, plowed straight a head and ran behind it trying not to fumble and made sure to fall down at contact. Nothing inventive or creative like the entire drive up to that point. I don't think we should have thrown it at all, just called a few running plays with intent to score rather than not fumble.
If that was true..then you take 2 straight knees..the entire drive was not creative..we were literally running the ball right at them to get down there

He went for the kick because he didn't trust the defense. His **** defense. The defensive mastermind played soft to protect his side of the ball.

Diaz is hiding behind an 18 year old kicker when he's afraid to give the ball back to UVA. Because then the blame lies on him more directly.

It's not a better option because 100 things can go wrong leading to missing the kick.

As I mentioned before kid didn't just miss it. Snap was high and the edge defender had a good step to cause pressure.

I been saying he coaches scared. It is an additional example of what I am talking about. It isn't just that series of play calls it is everything. That is why he is getting blamed it is not just the missed kick.

100 things can go wrong trying to get into the end zone. But the probability of things going wrong on a 33 yard fg kick is less than what could go wrong trying to be too agressive in that situation.

You’d have a point of UVA had 3TO to burn and we chewed clock and Centered the ball on 3rd down..but that’s not what happened..you try to walk it off with 0s on the clock in that situation..all this “play the young guys” well the youngsters made a few mistakes. Tyler was playing the whole first half through mind fog. Clarke drops a pick in the end zone. Kam let’s one through his hands in the first Quarter. TF kicker missed a chip shot..a coach can put u position but u have to make the play..and guys were put into position to make plays..these kids confidence is shook and idk where they get a boost from. Maybe trips away from toxic *** Hardrock rn can help with that..but idk

There was no harm at all taking a shot or two at the end zone. Put it where only your guy can catch it and let him make the play. UVA might get the ball back with 40 seconds and no timeouts, but who cares, at that point, it's on your defense to hold the line.

Strip sack, tip pick, straight up INT..sack to push u back further or a Offensive PI which we saw on 3 earlier..with a FG risk are a bad snap/hold..block or straight miss..execute and we don’t have this discussion. Too many plays left on the field

I'm aware of the risks, but a straight up throw to the corner of the end zone minimizes all of those risks. Except maybe a receiver falling down on the route, but I guess I shouldn't give them ideas.
