Longtime heavy booster and Butch supporter says...

Show cause----> End of Story.

If he does end up in college, he will end up somewhere like LSU.

SEC schools don't give a rip about hiring coaches with NCAA issues.

UM does.

i think the more important concept to take from Lu's post is not that Chip Kelly is a-coming to the U, but that the search has people like Chip Kelly on its wish list. If we tried to get Chip and we did not, i would be very pleased. if we did not try to get him and others at his level, then i would be pizzed.

this is the most important hire in the history of UM football. thanks Lu

No chance he would end up choosing us over USC if this were true...

They have deeper pockets, stadium, facilities and recruiting grounds that he's already familiar with..

The only reason I can think of, is that he would want a complete change of scenery and find Miami more appealing..

Jesus ******* christ people like you don't deserve to be fans of this team......Who won more titles in your lifetime, Miami or USC? For me, it's been Miami 5 USC 1......Now tell me which program is better?

Did I misstate something?

I do think Chip would kill it here though. I'd be like when Dennis Erickson took over.

******* THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Show cause----> End of Story.

Technically, he's done with the show cause. That said, if BoT folks are nervous about Butch's tenure at UNC during the scandal, they'll be sh1tting their pants at the prospect of dealing with Kelly's show cause history.

Sounds like gruden all over again to me, I hope not. So what happens if miami thinks they have a chance with chip and they wait until end of nfl season? Say butch gets tired of waiting and takes ucf job then chip don't get fired or goes to usc or decides to take a few years off. By that time then the only coach left to hire is mario. I personally think if chip does leave Philly he goes to the titans and don't return to nfl.

Did they not make Coker the highest paid coach in football?

"Coker had three years remaining on his previous deal but will receive an immediate increase in pay that puts him among the highest-paid coaches in the ACC, according to the source."

Highest paid coach in football. LMAO. PO-TA-TO.

You have no idea what you are talking about. I worked at the school when he was given a raise. He was one of the top paid coaches in the sport after 2001. And for more reading:

Liar.

And you're using a hire in 1979 to make your point? Your alzheimers is starting to show.

LOLOL So you think we had MORE money and cache and 1979 than we do now? We were able to get a guy THAT highly accomplished before we won a single championship. LMFAO.

You are basically a teenager, so you don't understand much yet, but every single team in history has had a period of horrible coaches hired. Every single school. Now it's been our turn. That doesn't disqualify them from the ability to do so. Now, go along and tell your classmates about how i'm microagressing. LMFAO.

First off, thanks for not only passing on some info, but being honest about the fact that ALL info is potentially false at this point. The worst part of this process is that everybody is so **** sure they're right. The guy they back is the best, the rumor they heard is true, they know what a coach's record will be for each of the next 5 years.

Also, wtf? I think I already mentioned it, but if not...Jesus could be a coaching candidate and people would complain he wasn't good enough. Do you people have to b**ch about EVERYBODY? Is there, literally, nobody that would be an exciting hire? Bunch of whining @ss b**ches.

Other than Lu's injection of hope into the fanbase in the OP...this is the next best post in this thread.

That's THE point to take from this...it looks like we're hopefully moving away from horrible candidates like Mario and Strong and actually targeting competent candidates. Let Butch be the Plan D fallback option...but in the meantime shoot for the stars.

Even if Kelly doesn't happen there will be other names available we're not even considering yet...a guy like Les Miles for example.

Let's hope for the best.

That's actually my takeaway and what I wrote in the OP. But, what can ya do. The guy was asked about MARIO CRISTOBAL. That is the ongoing concern: that we're going for low-hanging fruit.

Comparing promoting Coker to hiring Chip Kelly.... Bahahahaa

Come on guy, relax. We both know hiring Chip would be a monster hire, but I'm not blind to how conservative our school has been...

You aren't very bright are you? Miami has shown it will pay when necessary or when appropriate. If they think it is necessary and appropriate to pay to get Chip Kelly, they will.

when the **** have they ever? you justifying your statement by saying we paid Larry Coker is insane.

dude...close your mouth when you're enjoying those GoldenShowers, cause its rotting your brain... You need to let go of being right and look at the facts

Did they not make Coker the highest paid coach in football?

Did they not hire JJ from OK State?

DID THEY NOT HIRE A FORMER NFL HC AND ONE OF THE BEST OCs IN THE NFL????? Are you 14? Do u even know anything about this program you follow?

highest paid coach in football? You like to make **** up

they actually never paid Coker the raise that was agreed to...He was set to make $2MM upon the extension of his contract, but was fired before the extension was triggered.... So NO, they did not make him on of the highest paid coaches

SMFH you have no clue what you are talking about. Completely false.

Btw, did you read this yet: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Howard_Schnellenberger

I'll be glad if we are actually going after the big fish but I'm not going to be pleased if we fail to get one. That doesn't win us any games.

If we somehow landed Chip:

That being said I'm not even going to entertain the possibility, but it's good to see us supposedly shooting for the stars.

Not reading the entire thread, so I don't know if it's been asked, but are we prepared to wait until the beginning of January? Or is Philly going to can his *** early?

If Chip wants to go, I suggest he do so before playing New England. That is, unless he wants to recruit Belichik as a coordinator.

You're really reaching that far back??

Come on guy, you've been just as frustrated as I've been with how horrific this administration has been for over a decade... Thinking that they'd sack up and make this kind of big boy move is exciting, but inconsistent with what they've done for a while

Hope I'm wrong, cause Chip would **** down Jimbo's throat year one

Lots of people here are running with something never stated. I'm ecstatic that we're not looking at Mario and appear to be swinging for the fence.
