Longtime heavy booster and Butch supporter says...

I've been saying for awhile that someone was gonna get Chip back to college. He's right where Saban was years ago. NFL not working out, bolt back to college while there's some prime gigs open.

True.
I can see him at LSU or Clemson (if Dabo bolts).

#ChickenLittleFan

Nah.
Just living in the real world.
Sorry if it's not aligned with your agenda.

In the real world where Miami has plenty of money and more cache than both of those programs? Or in the short sited last 10 years?

Another possible explanation for this purposeful leak could be that the BOT wants to create the ILLUSION that they're going all out, while really having no intention to do so.

They're going to go cheap again. That's their history. Bet on it.

Now that I see these threads. I believe you may be correct.

Maybe its battered wife syndrome but this smells of "players notified"....

He's the biggest faqbot on the board. Follows me around like a puppy because I smashed him a few weeks ago.

LMAO. Can't wait to see how "rustled" you guys are when you realize that there was a negative 10% chance of Chip Kelly coming to Miami. And you fell for it. Got all excited for nothing.

What was your last screen name that got banned?

I'll spill the beans--> QueenofSpades. It all makes sense now.

SMFH you have no clue what you are talking about. Completely false.

Btw, did you read this yet: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Howard_Schnellenberger

You're really reaching that far back??

Come on guy, you've been just as frustrated as I've been with how horrific this administration has been for over a decade... Thinking that they'd sack up and make this kind of big boy move is exciting, but inconsistent with what they've done for a while

Hope I'm wrong, cause Chip would **** down Jimbo's throat year one

"For a while" aka 15 total years with a 90 year old Paul Dee, two other joke ADs, a socialist president who essentially forbid us from raising money just for football and thought UM should be a Wisconsin type program.

Ask Alabama about their decade of irrelevance. Or USC's 2 decades. Or NDs 2. Or OSU 30+ years!! Texas was THIRTY FIVE YEARS. Michigan has won ONE title SINCE WORLD WAR 2. ONE!!! For fvcks sake schools make mistakes. They get involved with dumb admin. Presidents with a different set of values. BUT THEY ALWAYS COME BACK IF THEY HAVE FANS WHO DEMAND IT. Stop being a pvssy and DEMAND IT.

.

Below is an article from last year listing the 25 most valuable teams in college football. I see all the teams you listed, but don't see the little private school in coral gables...

You seem to know more about our finances then me, so how would you compare those schools to UM as far as finances are concerned?

Cause our financial wherewithal maters here...

College Football's Most Valuable Teams 2014 - In Photos: College Football's Most Valuable Teams 2014 - Forbes

How many times does this need to be discussed? HOW MANY TIMES? Do you people ever read the site? I can't with this stupidity anymore. I mean truly the dumbest people I've ever met root for this team. There have been maybe 50 posts over the years describing Miami finances, football, donations, money, etc. Miami can afford any coach it wants. It's been covered more times than I can remember. Seriously bro, you need to read more and post less.

my apologies for not dedicating the time you do to this site you angry geezer...

would have taken you less time to legitimately respond to my post instead of soiling your diaper and going on a tangent

That firm they hired are really making their money got everyone believing we actually have a chance at Chip, GTFOH

Chip Kelly, da 1 true Gawd.

Wouldn't have to worry about losing to ECU, UVA, NC St., GaTech, etc. with Chip in control of UM football.

Chip Kelly falls into that hire the best coach available scenario. Not some retread that can't beat ECU or NC St.

"Wahhhhh some other school is more attractive."

"We can't spend money!"

"He'll never choose us b/c USC won more titles in 1970!"

"Even though since Miami became Miami it has been a better program than any on earth, USC is still better bc they have a cool fight song and Pete Carroll!"

Don't get butthurt about the fact that our school has NEVER been willing to seriously invest in our football program.... It's simply the truth. I'd love for us to make this kind of move and do whatever's necessary to get him, we'll see if something has changed

LOLOL "never". You must have become a fan in 2005. Coker was one of the highest paid coaches in the sport. We hired a NFL HC before too. Do you even know that? Are u even aware what kind of a hire Schnelly was? We did that before we had one tenth the cache and money we have now.

Dude, just stop. We don't have more money than USC. Anyone with half a brain knows this. There are things we offer that USC doesn't, but money is not one of them.

How do you know? How do u know what we are going to offer versus what USC will offer? Honestly? You don't. Stop *****ing and assuming that Miami is some small time program that can't compete with the big boys. It's ******* infuriating.

I don't know. What I do know is that USC's endowment is more than 5x ours. What I do know is that they have already paid a head coach more than $4 million before all of these TV deals kicked in. And what I do know is that they have made a former NFL coach the highest paid coach in college football. If Miami is willing to throw $5.5 mil + at Chip like I expect USC to, then I will tip my hat to you.

As much as I hope this is true, I think people are getting ahead of themselves.

They are....OR they forget USC is quite simply a top 7 job in the country...and we aren't.

Kelly knows the PAC 12, and knows he can own it. More importantly, the bigger $$$ is there. Would I like him to come down here with a bad a$$ DC....sure...but waaaaaay premature.

UM

Would be happy with this, still prefer butch.

Then you're outside your ****ing mind.

Those 2 are on two different coaching planets. If one became available there would be a bidding war for his services of epic proportions. The other has been unemployed for a while.

Just stop. This Butch madness is getting out of control. He's a nostalgic shot in the dark compared to Chip.

Just stating my preference. Keep in mind, chip has as many national titles as butch. And chip also never built a team that went on to win a title and almost two. My preference for butch is about the defense we would field.

Chip Kelly lost to a non P5 team as well. Hello Boise Idaho!

I apologize if that fact doesn't fit your agenda but it still remains a fact.

Let's not even talk about his record vs Stanford. 2-2. Well played.

Bottom line with Chip is we would be relevant again. We would win ACC championships and we would be in college playoffs. Would we win NC? Who knows. But he would give as a good a chance as anyone. And he would bring excitement to this program. If there is one person on this board that was not jealous of his Oregon teams feel free to chime in. Yah he could never beat Stanford but **** was that team fun to watch. If not for super human Cam and that crazy play where the RB never touched the ground then Chip has a NC under is belt as well. So please stop with questions about his coaching ability. If you want to question the show cause then fine that is legit. But what he could do with SFL talent would be ungodly.

There was an interesting article on Yahoo or MSN yesterday that USC has a secret hire lined up that is supposedly big time. The deal is that if any word of this hire is leaked before he signs, whenever that might be, then he is backing out. My first question was that if that were true why would someone be stupid enough to even leak that much information because now the media will be prying. The speculation is that it could be Kelly or Saban. Now in light of what LuCane reports, if it is indeed Kelly I would think he would have given that same directive to UM folks about letting his name leak. So you can look at it two ways. USC has someone else lined up. Or UM was in the running but might not be anymore because some dumb a$$ let the cat out of the bag. Either way very interesting stuff going on by the minute.

Another one of these Einstein's that doesn't understand what an endowment is. SMFH. Miami has a bigger endowment than Alabama.

USC board saying Chip was offered twice by USCw when Chip was at Oregon and he declined both times. USCw fans aren't too confident they could land him. Some have even suggested Miami as a better fit for him.

Supposably he's not a fan of USC. Has anyone heard of this before?

BTW, for those suggesting Miami can't compete with the elite programs in salary are mistaken.

Miami has CHOSEN to be cheap with their last three hires. UM is not poor.

Something else to factor is Adidas. They might want to help in all this understanding how their Brand would be affected a la Nike.
