Lol at the UGA fanbase

Georgia's problems were above Mark Richt, much like ours were above Larry Coker, Randy Shannon, and Al Golden.

Miami has won 5 championships and played in 8 since Georgia last played in one.

This is an iconic program. They're an underachieving program that just lost one of the only great coaches in its history.

We wanted to lynch a coach who went undefeated his first two years, won a NC and got cheated out of a back to back NC. Why would they not hate him. I like Mark but this is Miami, if he doesn't play for NC within five years we will be flying banners.

They are ***** envy of Bama....

People are stupid, there I said it. Richt spoiled the UGA fanbase, a fanbase that forgot that after Dooley, they were pure garbage for over a decade. Frankly, Dooley wasn't all that great until Bear Bryant got old, and then he had his brief moment of glory in the early/mid eighties. When a coach is somewhere for awhile, it gets stale, so they had to go their separate ways at some point. That said, no rational, sane fan looks at the Richt era as anything but a smashing success. People have this "Grass is greener" mentality, forgetting that there's only one Nick Saban, only one Urban Meyer. Richt was a top 10 coach at UGA, and he won in a way that was honorable.

Richt took a dump of a program who's claim to fame was a 1980's national title, and hasn't done ish since like 1984 and made them relevant again. Yet, let the fine people of GA tell it, they were one of the elite programs in the nation. smh.

Counterpoint here is that UGA fans look at the talent in that state and feel it should've produced a ship by now, or should've under Richt, rather. Especially without another major power in the state.

The problem with that is the same as USC and UCLA fans thinking they should be elite "just cuz" there's truckloads of talent in California. It just doesn't work that way. Additionally, Ga is dead center of ACC and SEC country. The state is prone to being cherry picked -- even when UGA is flourishing.

I think Richt's biggest sin, besides legitimately not finishing better, is that he became old to the fan base. He aged on them. So they wanted a change. It wasn't because Smart was so great. It's because Richt got stale.

I believe we'll be playing for the second championship within 5 years.

UGA fans respect Richt but make no mistake they do not want to see him win a title here at Miami...

It's kinda like when Lebron left Cleveland and came here to win.

This surprises me because I've seen where a lot of UGA fans still support him. There was even a guy on WQAM at SEC media day who said he knows UGA fans that have actually donated to our athletic department to support Richt.
