One of the reason he left us is because he didn’t want to move to the defense.
Some guys are never the same after an injury. I’ll always believe he fits into that category.

Kid was always a no cut runner with minmal vision, poor contact balance, and no real skills outside of being way bigger and faster than his competition in East Central Florida.

Yes except for the always dreamed about being a gator thing. But other than that, best of luck to him. He got a free education- something I couldn’t do.

Absolute truth.
People have no idea how both Lorenzo and Avantae had UM in the lead early AND went through a TON of heavy-heavy recruiting from other schools. Both picked Miami in relatively quiet fashion (as far as informing UM) that did not make the other schools happy at all.
I wish that things had worked out better for both Lorenzo and Avantae on the football field. No need to slam those guys, or their families, or the people close to them who post on these boards.

For me, personally, I only rip on Gaytor fans for their 5-star obsession with Lorenzo, and the Avantae birthday cake. Other than that, I hope both Lorenzo and Avantae graduate and go on to success in life.

Yeah, we're all real torn up about LinLo.
That dude is only talked about here because he dunked on this program on his way out the door and his collegiate career since has been one blunder after another. If we had a "State of Florida Non-Factor All-Team" roster going, Lingard wouldn't start on that team either.

Here’s my issue with your argument..there are also plenty of kids who get free rides academically including room and board without any outside obligations like practice and training taking away time AND they can go work or some even start companies using university incubator programs. And yes some of them also don’t manage their money well That happens.
let athletes make as much as market allows, you don’t hold back on that for everyone becsuse some can’t handle it Or be hypocritical vs full rides academically which most universities give out far more than athletic ones

He didn't start anything with any other people, but certain porsters went after him (a) when he was publicly-supportive of whatever decision Lorenzo and Avantae were going to make (i.e., Tweed didn't come here and lie to people by saying that those guys were 100% going to pick Miami), and (b) when Lorenzo and Avantae didn't turn out to be Day 1 starters.
In particular, several posters falsely accused Tweed of being some sort of handler (he was not) who would somehow profit from the recruitments of Lorenzo and Avantae (he did not).

He is a very fast in-line runner. But for football, he tended to run high and upright, and he did not seem to have a lot of moves or elusiveness. He also had a knee injury early in his time at Miami.
In short, the types of things that limit the careers of MANY kids recruited to play college football.
"5-star talent" does not always develop into "5-star football ability at the college and/or NFL level". All one needs to do is review the list of all the 5-star recruits (as rated by Rivals/Scout/ESPN/247) over the past 20 years to find that not all of those guys were drafted into the NFL.

I went to Lorenzo's Dads Barbecue in Orlando before the UM Spring game a few yrs ago....Lorenzo was there serving Barbecue...Father was super nice...
