Lingard in the Portal

For whatever the reasom manny refused give him any carries.
He let him play special teams but not one carrie.
If Lo feels he is healthy a d he is being allowed to play special teams...has been cleared and the HC doesn't let you get any carries even after injuries at RB...yeah there are issues there.
Personally I don't believe a single word that comes out of mannys mouth.
I'm sure the coaches didn't just go "Lingard is our most talented back, and we're having a bad season, so we're just going to sit him and risk our jobs." IF Lingard was healthy enough to play and showed in practice that he was capable, then there had to be something else going on.

He was given the chance to get playing time because he was never ahead of Burns and Harris on the depth cart. He had manny opportunities in practice to complete for playing time. If you don’t earn it in practice, then you don’t deserve to get carries. He has been healthy for weeks
If true then why did Jarren play after he bailed on his team and failed to show up to practice? Also playing time is based on field performance. Look at Harris’ and Burn’s stats after Dee Jay went down and make an argument why Lingard didn’t get an opportunity to play? Their poor stats speak for themselves even with a bad OL.

Then understand why you aren't getting playing time. Unwind when you on the field and getting your job done.
Of course no one should prioritize video games over their career (football, school, work, whatever), but there is ZERO reason to believe anyone on our roster was. College football players have lives outside of the sport, you know. You're being silly with this angle.

Yeah, something was obviously going on. It's a real shame. Not just because of his 5 stars, but also what I saw in that one game against a bad team and his HS tape, he really looked like he could be special for us. Oh well. The one place on O we can afford to take a hit is RB.

We have posters calling Cam Harris a savage for subtweeting. For f***ing subtweeting. There's clearly no disconnect between certain fans and the culture of the program.

And LOL at anyone giving the staph the benefit of the doubt in regards to Lingard simply not being able to beat out Harris or Burns. Given their overwhelming incompetence, that takes quite a bit of burying your head in the sand.

Absolutely something was going on.
I just dont believe anything manny says so Im not blaming the player.
Im betting that the incompetence of the HC had something to do with it.

Lingard had serious issues with his game and then got hurt. That’s pretty much the story. I wish he stayed and got healthy because he didn’t look right when I saw him.

Lingard has elite speed and upside in the right role. But he also has a lack of wiggle and poor contact balance. It was very much boom or bust with him before the injury.

Good luck to him. Looking forward to watching Chaney and Knighton.

You earn your playing time in practice. Always has been that way and always will be that way.

Lol;

So the justification is that since 2020 is a deeper class for RBs (which I agree), then 2018 haul is discounted? So Lo wasn’t a true 5 star, is that what u’re saying? So the joy of picking up two top 10 backs in 2018 should have an asterisk to it? Losing Lo, an elite blue chip recruit, is OK, b/c we have some true freshmen coming in, who are probably better than him b/c of their rankings in a much better RB class, correct? Is that the new excuse to help ya’ll sleep for losing Lo? Let me guess, Lo is leaving b/c he’s afraid of competition, right? Lol.

It’s the same recycled bull chit every season.
I think to put it simply he just think Chaney and Knighton are better than Lingard and Harris. Simple

Absolutely. Wouldn't make sense that coaches would simply choose not to play him just for the **** of it if there were any indication that he was both ready to play, and better than what we had.

The ready to play part was answered when they played him on special teams.
If he can cover kicks....he can run the ball.

This the mentality this team needs...stop all that "I got your back bro" "I'm going to miss ya, lil homie" lol...
Straight up.

Never really got into it because I see both sides of the argument but never cared that this guy didn’t play here. Our running backs have never been the issue. If he were dominant he would’ve played.
