What’s your take on the recruiting side of things? LSU is in a state loaded with talent, and the local kids are extremely loyal to the program. OU has to fight the Texas schools and now the big SEC schools for Texas kids. That seems like a big advantage for LSU, but you know the dynamic of OU recruiting in Texas more than most.
 
These deals for college coaches are going to either push NFL coaching salaries or make those coaches think about moving down. The top college guys are right there with the top NFL contracts. The NFL average is well above the college average at 6.6 million, but we're starting to see a lot of contracts in college exceed that.

Bottom line, it's a good time to be reworking your deal or getting a new one.

They will push NFL coaching salaries.
 
It’s easy, what has held him back from winning? Defense sucks. At LSU he can pull elite DBs. Game over. He will clean up on offense and pull better defensive talent than at OU ( even when they are both in the SEC). If he can’t win there he can’t win anywhere.

nobody is doubting lsu's ability to win championships, i'm saying they are equal with Oklahoma. Oklahoma is a perennial power house

He's going to finish this year 11-1. Lsu is a dumpster fire right now, if you think he has a better chance at winning a championship next year at LSU than he does at Oklahoma then you need help

I don’t think he does at LSU right now but in two years yes. They already have more talent than OU. They been getting 5* guys even when they are down. They have a talent rich area and one can say they have the most loyal recruiting area.

You are never going to enough big guys up front to win it all at OU. LSU much better job I just thought Lincoln would leave for the NFL before he left OU

But that’s the thing, he needs to recruit at a higher level on defense. Which he hasn’t been able to do. At LSU that’s not a problem. No matter who they hire they’re going to struggle to beat Bama, just like ANY coach in the country. Doesn’t mean he won’t field an elite team every year.

And OU is going to have that problem as well when they join the SEC although granted the timing of that is still up in the air.

No, I didn't. Headed out of that area down to Durango and across the desert (lost my new sunglasses I got in Telluride taking photos I guess) to Albuquerque.

Had some amazing Mexican food in Cuba, NM at El Bruno's. I guess they had to remodel or rebuild since then, it caught in fire. Seemed a timeless place, very mom and pop. Wish I had time that trip to hit Santa Fe, Taos, but was meeting up with some friends in Corrales, outside or Albuquerque, so maybe next time.

Dunes looks pretty **** awesome with the mountain backdrop. The mountains from the desert were a sight as well though.

You know, that's not a bad idea at all. If it truly is a new day at Miami then give Lincoln and Urban a call and make both of them say no.

I have no clue if any of this is true but for Miami's sake they better hope that the numbers part isn't true..... If Riley is really getting in upwards of 13 mil a year that could push Mario or Lane's asking price way out of Miami's reach.... If you're Lane or Mario's agent wouldn't you think your client is worth somewhere in the 8-10 mil range if the market is saying the value is there???

I don’t think OU is fighting with anybody in Texas they recruit as long as they’re winning 10 a year. Texas a&m dominates north Houston and surrounding areas. Ou dips into Houston but dominates the dfw area. As long as Texas is mediocre as they have been for years they aren’t a threat. Ou gets who they want at the skill positions
