Let's face some facts

I find it shameful and disturbing that UM can just be run by the highest bidder.

It's one thing to demand the program be better, or want a new coach.

But it is entirely improper, IMHO, that this man is essentially running UM athletics. He was a huuuuge Golden guy btw.

this is not unique to um. higher ed is a business now, and everything revolves around donors and boosters.

CanesForever started this thread because he is scared to death that Butch Davis is going to be hired.

Why do you think CanesForever/Franchise is opposed to UM hiring Butch?

Because he has said so, and because he was the leader of the anti-Butch movement in the early days of Grassy.

I think it's because given the chance at Chip Kelly, Mike Gundy, Dan Mullen, or Gary Patterson he would rather one of those guys.

Which is a rational position, as opposed to a fear based one.

It's not rational to think that we have a shot to land one of those guys.

Fact is that Dimare is UM's actual AD. That yellow toothed socked puppet secretary of his, Kermit The AD, is merely a stooge in place to take the heat for the bad decisions that Dimare makes as AD. Fake is as much the AD as you are, friends.

Let's figure it out. Let me help in the process if I may. Here's the proof:

1. Dimare's son will be the next head baseball coach. For those who don't follow baseball closely, UM is a top 3 job in college baseball.

Last time the job was open, UM went to Georgia Tech, which was a College World Series team with guys like Kevin Brown, Garciaparra and Veritek playing there, and UM took their HC. What do we do this time? Hire the AD's son.

2. Fake spent the last several months telling the world that Folden would be the HC through the end of this season and that no change would be made. A few hours later, Dimare fires Folden.

3. Barry Jackson's latest article lists Dimare and Miller as the guys running the search for the next HC. Dontravious Money has already told us that Miller isn't a football fan. Who does that leave as the guy making the decision? Yep. Your AD Mr. Dimare.

I'm not here to say that Dimare is any less qualified to be the AD and pick a HC than Kermit The AD. In fact, he's probably far more qualified as a successful businessman to evaluate a potential employee than a guy whose claim to fame was selling tickets.

My only hope is that Dimare is an astute college football fan and not just some old stubborn dude stuck in the 80s or 90s.

Run a real search, AD Dimare. Call some monsters and pitch them on UM. Call a guy like Gary Patterson and see if losing his Heisman caliber QB and all-world WR at the end of this season might have him thinking about a change of scenery. What better time to jump than after losing your entire offense?

AD Dimare, please don't just sit back and go down the usual desultory list of fired failures with some connection to UM or the area. Shoot for the stars and remember you have a pretty good option there if you fail to bag a big buck.

Agree 100% with how the search should be done. Patterson agreed to interview here once maybe there still something there. Unfortunately I think they are not capable of seeing anything beyond the three names in their Rolodex.
It's almost like they have social anxiety...they don't like to meet and talk to new people.

See this right here is the problem. This pathetic little sisters of the poor attitude. This whole "no one wants to coach at Miami and we are broke!"

I had a feeling that is what is behind this. Man up and have some pride, the University can buy whoever it wants. That is a fact.

You go after Patterson hard and you make him turn down the gig. Don't ask him to submit a resume either.

We cant get in a bidding war with larger schools that have the best head coaches. We will not have enough money top attract top assistants. So you can call Patterson but will you wreck the program paying him 5 million? When push comes to shove you either take a guy on a gamble like Herman or Cristobal or you take Butch .I take Davis ,let him build talent and he can yield the ropes in 4 years to a younger guy.

The bigger problem is making stupid assumptions. I never once said anything about no one wanting to coach at Miami or anything about our finances.

Stop the madness. Miami is a Power-5 school, with tremendous boosters, a gigantic brand, and just landed an absurdly lucrative Adidas deal.

I have never seen such self-doubt and lack of cojones from a fan base that is supposed to have "swagger".

They sure proved that the last three hires to the cheapest bidder

Right, and we're the only school in the country with those things. You failed to mention the empty stadium 45 minutes from campus. That has to be more impressive than playing in front of rabid, sold out stadiums that are attached to your office.

You said it's not rational to assume we could hire an elite coach. I'd love to hear why you think that is, especially now that you seem to feel money and job attractiveness are not an issue (which is true).

Because the Miami job isn't seen as an upgrade from where those guys currently work.

LMFAO so now nobody wants to come to Miami bc the stadium is far away? LMFAO you can't make this up.

little less talking and more action would go far with our fan base. Tired of seeing these garbadge coaches because Shalala sinks all the boster money into a new science building. She single handly destroyed the football team and karma will catch up to that golden diggin *****

This is embarrassing.

You might want to take a knee - unless you're going to pony up multi-millions in funds to match these trustees.

The one common thread I see, is that mature, successful businessmen, ALSO want a proven product with a track record, determined under extremely adverse conditions.

On the other side is a group of young, not-so-successful snot rags chasing after rainbows.

"He's unbeaten!"

"Wow! How many games?"

"Six!"

"GTFOH!"
