He almost certainly would have stayed and that's at the heart of Plaintiff's argument.

Right and it kinda annoys me about Bell

I can’t say for certain Bell would have come back with the opportunity but I would think we would have made him a priority and worth the while

Probably would have solidified our position as the best team in the country

But I don’t want to assume that would have been the case it’s obviously a **** show

From all accounts Bell wanted to come back, but in hindsight leaving was probably the right move for him.

If these plaintiffs eligibility hold, Wesley does not make practice squad, and returns to college we would be fools not to take him back. This isn’t Jack pyburn who doesn’t know anything about miami, the locker room, playbook, culture, etc. This was a captain last year who is the epitome of the culture Mario has developed here.

True. You are technically correct (in that CFB as always been minor league NFL).

But, IMO, a big difference is those MiLB baseball players (those in class A ball thru AAA ball) are professionals and part of a union. If CFB players were (or are) able to unionize, that will drastic.

Don’t think he ultimately had a choice

Probably makes a hefty paycheck and ends up a first rounder 2027 but because the NCAA is inconsistent I guess we will never know

Could be wrong though

I didn't mean to imply that the two systems are the same - they're vastly different. The part about CFB being the (free) minor leagues of the NFL still stands true. The parts you mention regarding pros, unions, CBAs, etc is all 100% true. I have to think that at some point, CFB will be forced to unionize and create a CBA if the sport is to remain viable.

To be fair, I have some questions about the position, but at some point you know exactly who Wes is as a player and just let the other guys - who have higher upside - play. It's not like Wes didn't have many faults, so even if you're wrong about your current roster, you wouldn't be losing much while potentially gaining much more.
