Latest Intel on Canes’ interest in Wesley Bissainthe and other NFL players returning

If clarity on the 5th year of eligibility was not in place when said player made his decision to go pro, I don't think it's unreasonable to reclaim a year of eligibility if he doesn't make an NFL roster.

That said, joining the team with one week left in fall camp sends the wrong message about putting in the work over the last several months to earn your spot.

The NCAA tried to specifically exclude the 2022 class. But being the morons they are they waited until both after the draft/decisions to go pro were made, yet BEFORE the CFB season began to make this rule change.

So effectively players from the 2022 class are arguing they would have never attempted to go pro and would have remained in college had the NCAA not screwed them. Which is true

Facts idk where all this caring about hurting feelings BS is coming from especially in the NIL era, it may not apply to Wes cause he's so called "average/mid" but if a guy like Fletcher was part of this TRO i'm bringing him back expeditiously, take his spot if you feel a way about it..

And that’s the crux of every issue we have with collegiate sports. The NCAA always a day late and a dollar short. They were so busy trying to run down programs like Miami trying to claim amateurism, while teams got to cheat under the table, they never see these trains coming down the track like compensation and these years of eligibility. That group is always reactive instead of proactive and it looks like the three stooges and shemp are running the show
 
Seems like the people against this are just fake outraged over players getting another year of eligibility

What’s the legit argument against this? Its not going to be a yearly thing, its only happening this year because the NCAA waited late asf to make this decision

All of the players probably would have just returned if they knew they would be able to

Exactly. It’s completely antithetical to what Mario has built here. Look, considering the lack of depth we have at LB it would be really helpful to get Wes back for another year. But, the pros don’t outweigh the cons. You’d basically be sending a giant middle finger to all those who worked their butts of in the off-season. I’m not a fan of ANY of these players being allowed to return to college, and it would be hugely hypocritical of us to turn our heads when we do it.
 
I’m sure people will disagree but if a guy who can’t make the NFL comes in a week before the season starts and takes your job then maybe you didn’t do enough to earn/solidify it.

I know we have to manage the locker room but we are trying to win a national championship. I think guys will understand bringing back a team leader from last year. If Mario thinks this makes us a better football team, then we should pursue it.
