Its been 6,7,11 for his first three full cycles according to 247We don't even have to project. He's literally had a top 10 class every year at Oregon. Actually between 3-8 I believe. Every year.

Check out the LeBatard interview that is posted on this site. Lane is not meant for Oxford. He's actively lobbying because of an unattributed tweet that's making the rounds?
Please stop with the Marcus Lemonis nonsense. The guy is not an alum and has done nothing as a UM trustee, but all of a sudden he has become the chess king because of where he went to high school?
I've tried to tell people for quite a while that Jose Mas is moving up the ranks. The guy has been a stone-cold politician and power-broker since he was a teenager, and he has way more money and power and sports experience than Lemonis. Sure, they went to the same high school, but Jose is the one who has been leading the BOT in a different direction. Lemonis is riding Mas' coattails.
Coker, Shannon, Folden, Richt retired, Manny, yes. Schnelly, JJ, Erickson, Butch all left for greener pastures. The point still stands. I’d like to have a HC stick around for more than 3-4 years as long as they don’t suck obviously. The revolving door is bc the coaches have sucked, not bc they left.
Kinda the same argument about Mario and FIU
Ok but…wouldn’t Mario too? I mean, he already has before…My biggest concern with Lane is that he's a climber. If Bama or the NFL come calling, I think he leaves Coral Gables.

Right that’s what I meantExcept people are acting like he did a bad job at FIU. He DID NOT. He was a 36 year old first time HC who inherited a WINLESS team. That's right, he took over a dying resourceless 0-12 program. And despite a TON of organizational headwinds and a lack of support, he led formerly winless FIU to their first Sun Belt Conference championship and a bowl after only four years at the helm.
He had one bad year (which again, was infinitely better than what he inherited) in a difficult circumstance and was fired. And good old Pete Garcia got RAKED by everyone and anyone for firing him. It's known as one of the most idiotic moves by an AD in years. And time has proven that it was.

Season tix since ‘97 - I know how recruiting works down here. You've been a Miami fan for how long? How often have we heard about kid a liking Miami but not wanting to go so far away from home? If you're out west Oregon is the only viable option to play big time football at a place that has their stuff together. He'll dip into California. He can go to Arizona and be practically unopposed. That isn't happening here.
The George Pickens story is a great example. Allegedly Miami had made real progress with him and there was some thought that we had a real shot. UGA calls him minutes before he made a final decision and the Miami people knew that was the end of the game. He was going to Georgia. Thats how ruthless it is. His zest and vigor for recruiting aint beating that. Up those bags or be disappointed.
Right that’s what I meant
He gets a lot of criticism for it but it’s like the Saban/MSU argument all over again
It’s strange the stances people are taking to support “their guy”
I don’t have a preference really over either. Gun to my head Mario because I think he will recruit better and seems to still be getting better as a coach
skip to 4:00 minute mar, put on 1.5 speed and laugh - whether you want Lane or not - it's hilarious
I feel the exact same wayYeah honestly I am not even some sort of Mario or Kiffin fanboy. I just objectively understand they they are both legit and much better than anyone we've had at Miami this century. We'd be lucky to land either. Mario would be my first choice though because recruiting recruiting recruiting.
At this point we should be begging for any sense of competency, no matter how long it lasts.Coker, Shannon, Folden, Richt retired, Manny, yes. Schnelly, JJ, Erickson, Butch all left for greener pastures. The point still stands. I’d like to have a HC stick around for more than 3-4 years as long as they don’t suck obviously.
No kidding.Make it happen.. and make his buy out 100 mil lol
