Lane Kiffin is realistic (info).

That’s definitely part of it. He comes with a lot of risk. Most of the risk is due to his behavior.

He also has trouble getting along with people he works with, has had numerous well publicized feuds, etc. Mouth breathers will say “give me that savage”, but honestly Lane has spent a good part of his career acting like a frat boy.

He was a frat boy until he got humbled, and Saban taught him to be a real coach. Since his time with Bama, what scandalous things has he done? Dude has been a model coach at FAU and Ole Miss. He got a ringing endorsement from Schnelly as the FAU coach and several big time P5s are trying to land him. Despite that, UM is tops on his list because Kiffin isn't dumb. He knows at LSU he'd have to keep trying to get through UGA and Bama every year. The ACC would be a cakewalk (and he just happened to beat our biggest opponent on next years schedule despite being at a huge talent disadvantage).

There is a cost benefit analysis - is Mario so much better that he's worth an extra 2 million per year over Kiffin (Mario would probably be asking for 8.5 mil, Kiffin may do it for 6.5). I dont think h
Mario is worth an extra 2 mil, especially given that every one acknowledges that he has to hit home runs with both his OC and DC (which means $$$). Kiffin just needs a good DC.

I mean, he led FAU to two conference championships in his three years there. They were even 11–3 season in his very first year. The 11–3 season was the first season over .500 for the FAU Owls since 2008, and the first time they have achieved over 10 wins while competing at the D1 level. He is 8-2 while playing in the SEC West right now, including a tentpole win over Jimbo and TAMU. Let's not pretend we'd be promoting an OC here.
Except those 2 losses were because of his albatross of a defense and he let a bad O in Arky drop more than 30 on him PLUS let drive down in 50 seconds, let them score, and the only reason that game didn’t go to OT was because Pittman went for 2 and failed. Maybe you should watch some of Ole Miss instead of record watch my guy.

Can someone list for me Lame’s numerous accomplishments?
He has risks and warts from his time at USC and Oakland. Since he went to Bama his resume is a lot better.

He has FAU’s only ten win seasons and conference championships. It’s C-USA but nonetheless it’s success.

He’s 8-2 this season, with a reasonable chance to win 10 games. Corral has been very good this season.

This isn’t including the success in making Alabama a more modern offense. He isn’t the perfect coach but it’s not like hiring a coach with a .500 record. He’s 74-41 all time in CFB.

I agree with what you are saying but when was all of the stuff you are talking about? Everything I have heard is he has matured greatly over the last few years.

Waiting for someone to say, “Bring Mario and Lane to SFLA!”
I'd rather have Lane. Our offense is set up to be special.. Only thing I would he worried about is Kiffin likes to talk ****. He would bring that swagger back for sure but would it be too much? We are already undisciplined

Here is another data point. Kiffin lived in a protected environment in Tuscaloosa and now in Oxford. Freeze only got caught with his escort service because Houston Nutt's attorney was given access to his phone records. Once Freeze was a dead man walking, they used the data to justify his dismissal for cause. Guarantee they weren't oblivious of what he was doing nor did they care.

With social media, Kiffin would be absolutely in the crosshairs. Nobody gives a **** about the head football coach of FAU. At Miami, not so much. Picture this. Kiffin all over social media being at Tootie's or on his boat going out of Government Cut with a bunch of hot blonde's hanging out on the bow. The Lane Train Fan Club would tweet, "That's my coach!" Well, to think the BOT would not have some concern about image is ridiculous. I am not opposed to Kiffin but he does come with risk.
I need to get on that boat.

Conflict of interest? No, I mean that there are plenty of red flags that might not concern an SEC school, but which the UM BOT might take issue with.

Again, I'm not against Kiffin, but consider this. Well-known nutbag Dan Mullet has interviewed with UM twice. TWICE. And failed to get an offer both times. Kiffin was available all those other times (or would have made himself available), and has yet to even be interviewed.

You know who else couldn't get an interview at UM the last couple of times? Butch. And Butch actually proved he could do a great job at UM.

I'm really not sure that Kiffin even gets a full in-person interview at UM, though he definitely has some fans on the BOT. We'll see. I'm not opposed, but I would be very surprised if it gets serious with Kiffin, let alone "he's hired". A lot of things are changing right now, I'm just convinced the BOT gets over the hump with Lane's personality/behavior.
You're no fun

Exactly people are looking to the past a young dude with millions yea I’m sure he loved it up now he’s 40 and wants to win he hasn’t done anything but win since

Yeah but maybe it woiñd make more logical sense for a Ole Miss to take it serious. Like the threat works better i think. I don't think thats the case. I think he likes living down here and would come
I can see that. I was viewing it as Ole Miss wouldn’t want to lose him to a division rival and have to play him every year. This could be for a raise I just personally think he’s trying to get in front of the Mario stuff.

Please stop with the Marcus Lemonis nonsense. The guy is not an alum and has done nothing as a UM trustee, but all of a sudden he has become the chess king because of where he went to high school?

I've tried to tell people for quite a while that Jose Mas is moving up the ranks. The guy has been a stone-cold politician and power-broker since he was a teenager, and he has way more money and power and sports experience than Lemonis. Sure, they went to the same high school, but Jose is the one who has been leading the BOT in a different direction. Lemonis is riding Mas' coattails.
And it sound like Rudy Fernandez is right there with him bringing the presidents office along.

I would look at his current and former kids, I don’t see any problems. However, I know we have a unique problem here if SFL. You might be dead on.
