Kings NIL business

Seems like a lot of this stuff has been in the works for quite some time.
I would bet the likes of Garcia, Taylor, and Williams were well informed of "the works".

Those ratings are based on percentage of of people in a particular area watching TV, not absolute viewership. The greater Birmingham metro area has a population of just over 1 million. The greater Miami metro area has a population of 6.6 million. Birmingham has a Nielsen # around 9. That means 9% of households are watching Bama football, which equates to roughly 100,000. Bama is as dominant as it can be so there isn't much else they can do that is going to suddenly get more people in Birmingham to watch Bama football. Miami could have an absolutely abysmal Nielsen rating of 2 and would still have more total viewers (120k+). In addition to that, Birmingham is ranked amongst the poorest cities in the U.S, meaning national advertisers are fully aware that people there aren't buying a lot of products and it's a bad market (shouldn't come as a surprise that advertisers don't advertise for the sake of advertising, they do it because they want people to buy their stuff).

Which market do you think national advertisers are going to be more interested in- poor, decrepit Birmingham where there is nothing to do but watch football or the capital of Latin America, which has 6 times the number of potential viewers and where everyone feels like they need to have the latest and greatest products? And if Miami actually has a good season and more people in S Fl start watching games, it will obliterate Bama's local TV numbers.
They need us back. They just don’t know it

The #1 market for college football ratings on ESPN? Birmingham.

I think the elite guys can go wherever they want and make money. They'll be able to grow a brand nationally. It's the players that aren't nationally recognized that this is going to matter for. There are 5 times as many small businesses in Florida than Alabama. There's just going to be more opportunities for a higher volume of players down here.

Just wait until yacht rental businesses decide to start paying Miami Hurricane football players to go on their boats and those guys start posting on social media that they're on a yacht off the coast of Miami...and getting paid to do so. That sounds a lot better than getting paid to do a commercial for Ed Watkins Chevrolet in effing Birmingham.

Does it matter to the 19 year old football player where the money comes from?

Glad for the guys to get their hard earned scratch.
Question:
1. If a player is signed up and gets injured or benched, and if he becomes a jag would he still get paid for nonperformance?.
2. When a player transfers or goes to another school, does all the promo contracts and deals become null and void, or can sponsors use the
image of the player who is not at the designated school at the contract initial date for their own publicity.
3. Can a player be sued for non performance and not conforming with the terms of the deal... e.g If a signing or booking conflicts with practice
or say a Team Charity event, is the NIL player a no show without consequences to the Sponsor or School?...
The fine print is the key, and I have not read or seen the details. Are they out there in the NCAA ruling?..
In a word….. depends.

Every contract is different and I’m positive that yeah they want to see ROI on these deals, they want to make sure especially if their local that the player stays local, and negative these are just NIL they aren’t actively selling merchandise for places. This is simply like Shaq who does commercials for “the general” insurance….

U see them panda dunks on his feet though?

But on the real, this is going to allow kids to start thinking outside of CFB. Remember, there’s thousands of CFB/CBB players, but only a handful of them make it to the next level. This will allow them to partner w/ some of these companies & give them a foot in the right direction for life beyond sports.

But, this misconception that the NIL will benefit big city schools is inherently untrue. The college towns that have chit to do but jock their players are the towns that buy merch. Miami is a low key front running city. ****, our own radio station ain’t fully dedicated to us.

Now if we start winning, oh it’s a wrap. But the NIL is not going to put us on level playing fields. These hick towns who live their lives via college sports will be throwing out deals upon deals.

To add on to that, do we want players who say "that program wins, I want to go there", or "those guys are making bank doing commercials, I want to go there". Because I think we've had plenty of talented players who were paycheck guys, and that hasn't worked out well for us.

Fun fact
2020

Week 3 Miami - UL #1
Week 4 Miami - FSU #2 (ahead of Texas-TTU, UF-Miss, Bama-Mizz)
Week 6 Miami - Clemson #4 (ahead of FSU - ND, Ark-Aub)
Week 10 Miami - NC St #6 (ahead of Michigan-Indiana, TAMU-USCe, Stan-Ore)
Week 11 Miami-VT #7 (ahead of PSU-Nebraska)
Week 15 Miami-UNC #3 (ahead of USC-UCLA, Bama-Ark,

Miami 6 times in the top 10 for regular season ratings

Week 5 TAMU/Bama #1
Week 6 TAMU /UF #5
Week 7 TAMU / Miss St #4
Week 10 TAMU /USCe #11
Week 13 TAMU/LSU #3
Week 14 TAMU/AUB #7
Week 16 TAMU /Tenn #7

TAMU 6 times in top 10 for regular season ratings

In the weeks where we were both rated- (week 6, week 10) , more people watched Miami than TAMU. Imagine the ratings if we were actually good at football.
