Bro, “real money” in So Fla dgaf about Miami football like that unless we winning. My nig we scrugglin to get facilities w/ real money in So Fla & thank God for Richt pushing that agenda to get the ball rolling.

That’s the difference; the real money in the South, these mofos will sell the daughter for a 5 star player. $20k is a drop in a bucket to what these jits r getting paid illegally now. Whatchu think gone happen when they set up shop to sell autographs?? U already saw Johnny made bank & he wasn’t even doing it on that level like that.
Something to be said when you don’t gotta ask some one for some money begging…

instead you make your own money working appearance gigs at clubs, restaurant, bars etc…

Lotta yall gotta remember too, that these SEC schools aren't going to be able to just dump money into some small business to secure a recruit. These athletes gains need to fall within the legal market value of whatever venture they're in. Which all will have to be reported at the end of every year.

Do you think a kid Is gonna want to sign 500 thousand autographs for Birmingham bumble**** Pawn Emporium to get that 650k (market value for a signed football seems to be at 150 at the moment), when you can be like D'Eriq and come to Miami abd probably make 100k+ in one day with 4 appearance based sponsors?

The difference, though, is that Alabama fans will stand in line to pay $50 for an autograph from the backup punter. The typical Miami “fan” in south Florida won’t even pay money to go to games, much less make it worth a company’s time to set up events. Yeah, King had a nice first day. Now sit back and watch what happens in the passionate football communities.

You aint wrong. But even Marcus Clarke and Cleveland Reed are getting deals here too.

The little podunk towns will make their own little loopholes like how they have been for decades, but they're definitely going to need to tread carefully unless they want the feds on their asses is all im sayin.

Why would the IRS, who are currently understaffed and overloaded, and who never gave two ***** about people getting bags in the 6 figures, suddenly start patrolling every college in the country looking to catch kids on $5,000 deals lol? Like they're hiring some new task force. They haven't given a **** for 50 years

Because the money athletes are making now is documented and needs to be reported every year for tax purposes. Why did the IRS go after college basketball?

Whats gonna raise a red flag, a high profile kid in Miami netting (random number) 250k over several sponsors/events, or a kid in bumbledick Mississippi netting 850k on nothing but "signatures"

What did they do to college basketball lol? Bust about 3 assistants in the whole country? It made absolutely zero impact. None. And it was only because the major shoe companies were also involved so it was a story. As for the rest, nobody is getting 850,000. Their getting little **** deals that hopefully add up. Secondly if they were getting massive sums, like they still will be, those will be under the table as per always. The kids getting bagged up aren't suddenly going to ******* report it on taxes ffs. They'll report the couple legal deals they get and that will be that

Im not saying the bagged kids are going to magically report illegal earnings. Im saying in regards to the people in here acting like SEC schools etc etc are going to be able to manipulate the market illegally to make it look legit isnt going to sway. In terms of the NIL the only opinion im trying to convey is that high tier prospects that can cognitively think beyond a dollar sign will see past that bullshyt (hopefully) and be more keen on not potentially risking their eligibility. Id like to think that Supreme Court didn't get involved too, just to not keep a pulse on it.

But tbh, you bring up good points as well..irs is notorious for picking and choosing who to go after, and the game HAS been dirty for decades..how far gone is it I guess is the real question

Exactly. It’s just a form of money laundering. Report the money and pay all of your taxes on the cash that comes through the legit sources, and that will keep them from digging around in the illegitimate sources.

Those ratings are based on percentage of of people in a particular area watching TV, not absolute viewership. The greater Birmingham metro area has a population of just over 1 million. The greater Miami metro area has a population of 6.6 million. Birmingham has a Nielsen # around 9. That means 9% of households are watching Bama football, which equates to roughly 100,000. Bama is as dominant as it can be so there isn't much else they can do that is going to suddenly get more people in Birmingham to watch Bama football. Miami could have an absolutely abysmal Nielsen rating of 2 and would still have more total viewers (120k+). In addition to that, Birmingham is ranked amongst the poorest cities in the U.S, meaning national advertisers are fully aware that people there aren't buying a lot of products and it's a bad market (shouldn't come as a surprise that advertisers don't advertise for the sake of advertising, they do it because they want people to buy their stuff).

Which market do you think national advertisers are going to be more interested in- poor, decrepit Birmingham where there is nothing to do but watch football or the capital of Latin America, which has 6 times the number of potential viewers and where everyone feels like they need to have the latest and greatest products? And if Miami actually has a good season and more people in S Fl start watching games, it will obliterate Bama's local TV numbers.
FACTS!!!

I'm sure the CEO of Aflac isn't an Alabama fan but they put him in a commercial bc it's good marketing. Idk why people are limiting this to just fans. Any smart business man will bring these players in whether they're a fan of The U or not.

A smart businessman will only bring those players in if it eventually helps his bottom line. If a business brings in a player and it’s business as usual that night, the smart businessman won’t bring that player in many more times.

Here's another side-benefit of the NIL nobody has talked about yet. It puts the power in the hands of FANS.

It's like in the movie The Gladiator... at first dude thinks it's enough just to win, but then a wise old man tells him "win the crowd, and you'll win your freedom. Make the crowd love you."

So kind of like that.... whoever the crowd loves is who is going to get all that NIL money. It's a popularity contest. So what does that mean? Probably that we'll see a lot less trolling by players especially during recruitment.

I expect we'll see a lot less hat games, a lot less "respect my decision", a lot less "feed the fam" nonsense once kids figure it out. The ones who get paid the most are going to be the fan favorites, which is usually the D'Eriq Kings, the Duke Johnson types who are all in from the beginning.

Might take a couple cycles for that to click for kids, but it eventually will. That's where the money is and people have a way of naturally figuring out how to squeeze out the most money when it's there to be made.

For real. Like the bigs won't figure out a way to get it done and just give it all up. Some people here have no clue what's coming. It's like ealry Vegas where all the mob said, "wait, we can do this out in the open, legally?"

Forget about it. It's a wrap, but some think Miami is all of a sudden going to show out for a team they don't show up for unless it's a big game and rankings are high.

Kids are gonna be kids and still make dumb decisions, so I'm not sure I'm on board with all of that.

As for fan favorites, King transferred. Does that blacklist him from the Houston market?

Want to know who the fan favorites will be? Big time players at big schools. The ones crushing it on the field. The ones getting all the headlines already.

I always find it funny how the new car issue is brought up. The dealership doesn't just give them a $40k car, they use it like a loaner or demonstrator, then the dealership sells it down the road. If it has less than 5k mikes on it, it can still be sold as new, otherwise it's a demonstrator.

Those dealerships aren't losing on much money at all, but it has as much impact as a huge bag.

True kids will always be dumb, but if you think this isn't going to change anything just watch and see. You know who the best-paid player in college football would have been over the last couple decades, if NIL was in effect the whole time? Tim Tebow. And for Miami? Duke Johnson and D'Eriq King.

Why? Because America loves that apple pie, wholesome ****. That's what sells.

The point is, it's no longer just about winning on the field, it's about building your personal brand and making people love you. It's about giving the crowd what they want and putting on a show.

Never underestimate sec bags, now that’s it’s semi legal I dont Know about all that man. They’ve been doing this for a long time. It does even the playing field for us though, every major school got those people if you know what I mean
brock serious question. Now that the NIL is going to generate a ton of revenue for the kids do you think the IRS and Feds will monitor this more seriously now. If so the Boosters and Parents of the athlete are going to be held accountable for these bags. There only so much room in their houses to hide all that cash.

Maybe I am way off base here or high LOL.
