Offense

- Be physical. Need to limit TFLs and second and longs. Donaldson and Rivers need to be difference-makers.

- Explosive plays. The signature of our offense is speed and big plays. Need to make them pay outside if they play us like Clemson. This is why we signed Rambo.

- Protect the ball.

Defense

- Gang tackle. We need to fly to the ball consistently.

- Be disciplined. Alabama has the size to wear us down, but the defense needs to at least be in the way. Can’t help Bama with huge chunk plays based on mentals (see Brossette’s long run in ‘18 LSU game).

- Finish the play. Near picks and near sacks won’t cut it.

Special teams

- Catch the ball on PR. We have new faces there and can’t make a mistake like Jeff Thomas in the Florida game.

Good stuff DMoney

I'll add...

Catch the ball. Take what's there, especially to start the game.

Match or exceed their physicality running the ball and tackling their runners. Can't imagine that they won't test to see if we're still in UNC form as a run defense.

Contest every pass Young makes. Don't allow him to dink and dunk. Live in their backfield. Make him uncomfortable in the pocket and uncertain about his reads.

I'll add no negative plays especially on 1st down. We have to chip away at it patiently. Take what they give us and don't force it.
On Defense keep a first time starting qb guessing at what he's seeing. Show him the entire formational playbook!

Minimize 3 and outs. I know we have probably the best punter in the country, but even with a flipped field, momentum flips like that can make it ugly quick.

Really comes down to OL and defensive front 7.

The coaches need to put the players in the position to make plays which hasn't consistently happened for years.

The players need to then make the plays. They can't wither and give up when they get punched in the mouth, that soft **** needs to be gone. This is a game for grown *** men, mental toughness is what will keep this game respectable or not.

Simply put, they have a young QB making his first collegiate start in an atmosphere he has never played in.
Make him as uncomfortable as possible and hit him as often as possible.

We have one of the most experienced QBs in the country who has seen basically every coverage known to man.
He has to show up and I think he will.

Keys to the pregame as the fan...

1) Drink early and often (3 beers deep already)

2) Play "In the Air Tonight" as many times as possible

3) Enjoy every second of this day because it's a game that we love and we are all passionate about. Go Canes!

dont fall behind big early.

Use our TE they will be key pulling LB of the line this will open up the run
Time for Mallory to become that dude. Always felt he missed his redshirt and he really wouldnt pay dividends til his 3rd and 4th year he would be beast mode.. Well its year 4, he should be filled out and adjusted to new body and strength and with his size speed combo should be a problem for any and everybody in the nation. If anybody is a stud who should not look out of place against bama talent its him, I expect for him to put nation on notice tonight, will be dissapointed otherwise (whether its him not making plays or lashlee not finding ways to get him the ball)
