Ken Dorsey

I think Kens problem is that he hasn't had a coaching tree to pull him along more quickly. If he gets a shot - I think he'd surprise people.

Dorsey is a legend here and before he comes back he best make sure he is ready. He could go from legend to being clowned by his former supporters.

He needs real experience first.

The NFL isn't real experience?

Miami is the next logical step in his career. Good OCs usually don't make lateral moves.

He's a QB coach who you're giving credit to for Cam Newton when someone could just as easily lay it at the feet of Mike Shula.

What is so logical about him getting the OC job here? Not another QB coach in the NFL with playcalling experience who would be better qualified? Our last two OCs have had a combined two years of calling plays on the college level before getting to Miami. And the results show that. Done with guys learning on the job at the position. Ken can follow Butch or Mario to UCF. Learn there. See you in two years.

We want the administration to treat it like a big time job and we got people here who want it run like a mom and pop store in a small town. Bring back Butch. Hire Ken. ***** embarrassing.

It truly is nuts.

No other fanbase lives more in the past.

He may not come as OC, going to be an NFL OC this year or next. He's pretty hot right now.

Butch running the program and overseeing the defense. Ken Dorsey calling plays. How does that not excite any true Miami fan?

Dorsey seems to be doing a great job as the QB coach in Carolina.

But I'm far, far more interested in hiring a big time head coach who will be coveted everywhere than I am intrigued by the possibility of bringing in Dorsey to be a first-time OC under an ultra conservative, offensively challenged retread.

Good. I wish him the best.

We havent won a title in 15 years. We havent fielded a top 10 offense in 14 years. We arent in a position to take on a coordinator who has never called plays. Not now.

Hiring anyone without play-calling experience is suspect. Perhaps Ken could be "QB/passing-game coordinator" while working under an experienced OC.

I love KD who to me exemplifies what hard work with some talent can do.

He still isn't who I'd want named as our OC in most cases. Should we hire an offensive wizard like Kelly, I'd then be fine with him as the OC/QB coach. I'd be thrilled for him to get an opportunity like that.

Should we hire a defensive coach, no way.

Nah. See he would never come here to do that. So according to some we should hire him for a job he's never done before and team him with a past coach partly because they were around 15 years ago when we were really good.

Nostalgia always leads to future success.

Especially with the rumors that the administration will finally be willing to spend to contend.

Hiring a conservative retread as a head coach and an OC with zero experience as a coordinator or playcaller at any level certainly doesn't fit the description of the term "mega staff" that's been floated around. It would be a pretty big letdown, IMO.

If let's say Dorsey was a USC alum would so many posters be equally enamoured with him as OC? Dont think so, which leads to bias, which leads to a no thanks in my book. Too inexperienced and would rather get a more qualified OC to keep the recruits coming.
