Getting a lot of face time on CBS. Cam Newton looks sensational. Would love to see what Dorsey could do with Brad Kaaya.

Indeed. The question is, which HC candidate could pry him away from Carolina?

As QB coach? Sure.

As OC? No thanks. I'm not interested in any more wet behind the ears dudes, or satisfying some longing for the past.

Disagree, Ken Dorsey's next legitimate move is OC whether College or NFL, he has maximized at his current position. Would it be a risk hire, yes. But how is that homerun hire OC hire at LSU working out? Or the sure thing hire of Fat Charlie at UF?
Sure he could fail but so have a lot of other " sure things" whoever we hire is going to have to go all in on someone ( unless they call the offense).
Ken Dorsey's time to be an OC is at hand, much like Jedd Fishs time was a few years back.
To not hire him as OC for experience issues is legit, but some proven OC will fail also. We just have to trust that whoever we hire has a plan and will adjust if it starts to fail.

Newton makes every coach look good. Let Dorsey get his OC experience elsewhere before coming here. This obsession the fans of this program have with ex players is beyond ridiculous.

Him as an OC under an offensive minded coach would be fine. A Coley at FSU type deal except we eventually let Dorsey handle some playcalling seasons down the line. Him getting an OC job in the NFL or college is the next step and he's earned it but I too wouldn't be comfortable with a defensive minded HC and an unknown entity as OC.

but why would he go from a QB Coach in the NFL to QB Coach in college?

Don't know and don't care. Have you not had your fill of inexperienced coaches? I'm all set on on the job training.

KD is now well versed with the pro game, as well as the college game. He has a well rounded resume. He's a risk, of course, but one that a new HC could manage.

My unqualified opinion: give it to him.

I agree.

But not at Miami.

Miami needs proven coaches with experience. I care more about the program's success than I do handing out jobs to former players. Nepotism doesnt win football games.

I see your point and it's legit, but won't we be taking a chance with any hire.
The key will be the HC and his vision and ability to adjust if needed.
I don't think we should get a defensive minded coach and a "new" OC like Tad mentioned. For Dorsey to work I think it would have to be a HC with the same offensive philosophy as Dorsey.

I mean if you bring in Chip Kelly or Tom Herman or Mike Gundy you can make it work. But those guys aren't going to hire someone just bc he played here. And you don't force someone on a coach.

D$ wants Corch Strong with Ken Dorsey as OC. Which would be a guaranteed failure.
