Jordan Travis

Outside of the RB Jashaun Corbin. Who else on their offense would you trade in place of someone on our offense? My argument is they dont have any good players on their offense. One good. Alot of average.
I wasn't talking just O 🤦🏾‍♀️. Both sides have players. I would take Johnson, Corbin, Gainer, maybe their 2nd RB
Look, am I saying we are going to get beat? No. But after the GT game, I don't expect a blowout win. LCE pointed out in this thread and I pointed it out in another thread earlier in the week, we won our 4 (real) games by 10 points. Outside of NC and Bama, none of the teams we've played are more talented than us. I'd love to be wrong, but we leave the middle open way too much and Travis even has the option to drop the RB a pass if plays break down and he'll be running free.

Gotta limit the yards after contact, get to the man and get him down. It's close to being 3 of Miami's 4 losses come down to missed tackles. Limit Howell's yac and the UNC game is for sure a win. If Miami tackles well and the offense does it's thing this is a win.

legit question: If Manolo survives the impending doom...whom do you anticipate him hiring as a DC?
Jon Patke...

Nah I’m kidding lol, probably Bob Shoop I guess.

Honestly idk. I do know Diaz wouldn’t want to move off his scheme, so whoever he would hire would just be someone that would do things exactly the way he wants it... So maybe he’d bring back Blake Baker lol.

I try to be as objective as possible. Some fans don’t like objectivity, and that’s fine.

These r the facts: we are on a 3 game win streak by a grand total of 8 points. Prior to that, we were on a two game losing streak by a total of 5 points. All ACC opponents.

The point? We were a play or two away from being on a 5 game win streak & a play or two away from being a 5 game losing streak. We’re an average team that’s struggling w/ average teams. On paper, beating a 7-2 Pitt team (#25) & a 7-2 NCSt team (#21) looks absolutely fantastic, but y r they considered average, despite their record & top 25 rankings? B/c 7 of Pitt’s wins came against teams w/ a combined record 25-38, while NCSt’s 7 wins came against teams w/ a combined 26-37 meaning, they’ve played bad teams, and their 7 wins is as legit as Tommy “Machine” Gunn being heavyweight champion.

We’re going against a below avg. FSU team, which has improved from last yr on def (Total D in 2020: 107th vs 2021: 69th-better than us), but make no mistake bout it, their O has taken a step back: (Total O in 2020: 62nd vs 2021: 85th). The only skew to this is, FSU can run the ball a bit….40th in the nation. The silver lining is our rush defense has improved, we’re now 47th.

We “should” beat them handily in this game. FSU is pretty much one dimensional, but we’ve shown a propensity all yr to make blowout games on paper, one possession games where the other team has the ball to win (see App St & GT). The GT game showed we can’t expect a blowout. We played a one dimensional team, w/ a far porous defense than FSU, and it took a glance knee on the ground & hella penalties to beat them by 3.

I expect a W, but I’m not sure what we saw last season will be the same results. We may get another nail biter.
I think most of us are on different ends of the same circle: do we beat them by 14-24, or do we squeak out a 3-7 point win that gives them something to celebrate?

Cmon the ga tech should have been a 3 td spread. Fumbles killed us but we moved up and down at will. Don’t fumble and go up by 21 and have gt throwing the ball every down trying to play catch up and the game gets real ugly. We out gained them by almost 200 yards. Game wasn’t really close

I never said that. Our poor defense is what I’m nervous about. Believe it or not, they actually have some good players on their team. If our OL can’t protect TVD or give Rooster space to run, it will not be a 52-10 type game. Forgive me for not being confident in our defense. I can admit that our OL has done better as of late. But I can see the other Johnson (the one we should’ve taken) causing havoc.
I hope we win on a missed fsu fg

@Cribby said Manny was willing to let go of the scheme this past off season when he offers the job to Muschamp

Solid list. I’ve watched every game of the noles like most on here. He has made some jaw dropping plays in and out of the pocket. Out of that entire list I believe he is the most athletic minus Murray, but Murray’s size brings liabilities.

Bottom line. If manny doesn’t scheme a way to keep him contained and we don’t tackle we’re in trouble
Bro what are you talking about? Seriously I want to know. According to draft scouts websites he runs a 4.62 - is he a good athlete? Yes for sure he is. But he’s a one dimensional player. He’s not on Manziel’s level. He’s not on Hurts level. He’s a lower tier QB. You’re literally comparing this kid to Heisman winners and finalists.

Years ago, I quit thinking logically about our games with FSU. Even when we were good or they were good, things rarely went as you might expect having watched both teams and thinking on how we match up.

You never really know how it'll go in this series as time has shown.

I don’t dispute what Cribby said, but I don’t think Muschamp would ever decide to work under Manny.

And his Defenses haven’t been good since he was DC @ Auburn back in 07 at the end of Tuberville’s run.

His stints at Texas, when he returned to AU & his Defenses at South Carolina we’re average to below average at best.

Muschamp is probably one of the most overhyped names that get mentioned amongst fans as a potential DC.
