Guy was our starter first game last season. Hope he’s turned things around. Coaches seem to think he was worth paying to stick around.

Lyle started our 1st game last year - so he must be very talented.

As SJ Alofaituli's taught us this year - our starters are always talented and who Mario chooses to start should never be questioned.

It’s hard for anyone to shine in our scheme but I don’t remember seeing anything to warrant a second thought to this point

Agreed and I hope he balls out. This is the type of game to not only get the rust off, but to "eat snaps" like a middle reliever in a baseball blowout to make sure every one is as healthy as possible going into Clemson.

He is our best option is running back number two this year, especially with Brown out. So I would be really hoping he shines for us this year because we need him.

True. But he struggled against anyone he played against last year. You have to start somewhere. And if he doesn't start Saturday it's not happening.

No.

The case for Lyle is - his On3 #1 RB recruiting ranking, how he allegedly looks in practice, and these 3 runs:

91 yd vs USF - 4th Quarter up 28 with 3 min left
61 yd vs Wake - 4th Quarter up 21 with 3 min left
17 yd vs Stanford - 4th Quarter up 21 with 9 min left

33% of his career yds are on those 3 runs. He's averaged 3.9 ypc overall & 3.2 ypc vs P4 (outside of these 3 runs)

I sincerely hope Lyle plays well this year and I'm wrong about him. Time will tell.
