Jonathon Denis in portal (Transfers to Miami)

To be fair, this is how it goes with most fanbases but most other fan bases are probably bating 70% as there's usually 3 or 4 local writers/contributors that seem to have won over their hearts and minds.

But CIS? As close to 100% kill rate as can possibly be expected. Headshot after headshot after headshot. Blu is the lone survivor.

True. But Blu isn't in the prediction business or steady content business. He aggregates info. Smart guy. Hope he's doing well after his covid hospitalization.

This staff is going to aggressively pursue available upgrades at every position and they are not worried about upsetting anybody.

If a kid is an upgrade and you trust the character, bring him in. This is someone they know and can compare to our current roster apples to apples.

We need more size and length but every little bit of improvement helps.

If it is then color me disappointed.
I dont know much about OL… but consensus is Mirabal and Mario are experts in OL. They recruited him, coaches him and were around him. At the very least he is a hard worker and has a great attitude or they wouldn’t think about bringing him in. Regardless they want him- For me that alone is enough.

I feel like Brandon Linder was the last actual tackle we recruited.
Does the portal count? Because we recruited jarrad williams from there. Other then that chris washington and michael mclaughlin, john Campbell, herbert, rivers! You just said recruited you didn't specify if they where good or not!!

Not talking about my like or dislike of Denis. I actually like the kid a lot even if we have a ton of guard types and need tackle bodies. As far as Mario and Mirabal go I know how good they are and my post had nothing to do with their prowess as evaluators and developers. My post was a disappointment if Denis is the player that DMoney was referencing in his post a few days ago when he said that a name well known to Miami fans would enter the portal in a couple of days. Let's just say I had my sights set on someone else that plays a position of greater need to us.

Those guys all were like 6’3 guards playing tackle. I want a 6’7 300lbs monster!!!

No more Manny protecting the soft *** mentality! Love it.

Still not in yet...Once you announce a school doesn't have to put you in for like 48 hrs (Forgot the actual rule)

Sometimes one guy can transform a whole position. OL is where all the players have to be a unit, so 4 guys could do their job and one guy keeps messing it up. That right tackle spot has been a turnstile for most of Diaz tenure and Richt's last year.

How u build a roster is stack talent and let the play on the field sort out who plays, who back up and who transfers. You can't say u not gonna bring in more players to a unit where we dont even have a All ACC performer. Thats lunacy. Alot of our guys are decent but none great. If Richard Young and Baxter wants in, you take both. If Innis and 5 others want in that are top WR, u figure it out. Worst case scenario, you have elite athletes on special teams, which is also why we struggled there. The backups alot of time are nowhere near miami caliber, from even just a basic athletic standpoint. On a humming program last season all James Williams would have been doing was tearing heads off on ST, showing he should get in the game like Sean T.

Bottom line is, take the talent, stack the talent, coach the talent and let the chips fall where they may. Competition breads greatness. QB is the only position where u zero in on numbers.

All good, amigo.

Q:

Has there ever been a reporter that covered UM that the message boards didn't attack? Even one? They all get killed eventually. Susan, Gary, Matt, Petey, Gaby, Lake, everyone. It's 100% kill rate for anyone who actually sticks around. We turn on them all.

Everyone picks on these writers, and I get it, it's human nature and the internet these days, and there is absolutely some (maybe a LOT!) fair criticism warranted, but they basically have an impossible job to me.

First of all, even if they are legit sixth sense mind-readers, these 17-year old kids are being sold by some of the greatest salesmen in the world, and change their minds about 90 different things 100x a day. Those are your sources. Kids, and worse. Handlers, HS coaches, uncles with their hands out. Everyone is corrupted and self-interested. So even if you're RIGHT and ACCURATE, whatever you were right about you are probably going to be wrong about tomorrow. And get killed for it. So yeah, they are all probably shell-shocked and conditioned to hedge. And why would they not? I sure would. Then consider the small salaries and tiny budgets and resources they have to try to get this done.

Then think about this... these guys don't have a "college football" or "sports" or "politics" beat. They literally are limited to covering one amateur college sports team that plays a total of 12-14 days a year. They have to generate multiple pieces of content every day, literally 1000+ articles a year, while being limited to this one little subject. So yeah, of course there is going to be a lot of silly and speculative content. Because they have to come up with something every few hours practically... or we complain.

And they all have to deal with animals like us having access to them every day? Being able to question them, criticize them, demand answers, etc. LOL. No thanks.

Look at this site. They've been trying to years to generate significant content, and have failed over and over. It's REALLY hard without a network and budget behind you. So they've pivoted to leaning on the message boards for free content, which makes sense.

Imma gonna pour one out for the net and paper boys and gals right now. They try. Even though it's a suicide mission. Saluté! :)

They all suck and the recruitnics that are ****y ******** catch the most ****.

When they are right they are proud peacocks. When they are wrong, either indignant (Barry, Manny, etc) or become ostriches.

Live by the word. Die by the word. In their online media game…

I don’t really care that much, but felt you needed some response to your thoughtful post.
