We wouldn’t need to worry about getting another portal receiver if we had some third or fourth year guys who could actually contribute. The Josh Gattis hire is still hurting the program years after he was fired.

For clarification, a #1 WR doesn’t necessarily mean they are a number 1 WR on their current team. It just means they would step onto Greentree as the #1 WR. For example, had Horton not left to be the #2 WR at “Bama, he would be the #1 WR at Miami. That takes away pressure from Trader having to go from seldom used backup to star WR in just one year.

Fans can believe all of the orange and green colored reports they want. But, that sort of progression at Miami is uncommon, especially the last 20 years. I’m perfectly fine with JoJo as our #2 WR with a strong slot receiver to complement him. But, we need somebody to take the pressure off and that somebody is not currently on the roster. CJ Daniels is still a question mark.

I agree but in the case we dont land a True #1 I believe Trader will elevate into that Role this season for sure.
