JoJo Trader… (not hurt)

That is the repercussion for penny-pinching HS recruiting at the position.

We had the high offer on Jeremiah Smith until the night before Signing Day. We had the high offer for Brandon Innis and he took less to go to Taint.

Shall I continue? Now I’m sure you will combat this with, “None of those guys are going to get in the portal!”. And that may be true, but that doesn’t mean the senseless comment about there only being 2 WR 1’s in all of CFB is true.
Nahhh Its Jeremiah Smith/Isaiah Horton or Bust round these parts

No them dudes ain’t #1 lol. Noah Thomas?Really? And a couple of them was in the portal. Like I said y’all don’t know what a #1 wr is. X put up numbers here but he isn’t a #1

Noah Thomas had an ATH cosplaying as a QB throwing to him last season. I don’t think it’s solely about numbers, clearly. If I did Thomas wouldn’t be listed.

I'm confident Trader can be our #1 going forward. Dude was a borderline 5*...time to shine sophmores, etc
I think most logical people think he has a ton of potential (with some of our other young WRs) but would also like to see an established veteran come in and take the pressure off

I get that it’s a message board but the whole it’s gotta be such an extreme POV one way or another is absurdly unrealistic

Makes zero sense to poach a guy to take away reps from jojo and other talented young guys just to bring in a jag at the position. Which is what the majority of guys entering in the spring window are. Look how long it took to click for Sam brown last season with no spring. Play the guys we have we aren’t getting anyone more talented than the 24 class guys in the spring window .
I'm of the same mindset as far as developing who is already on the roster. It's been 4 practices for some of them; how do you know what they will ultimately be by August?

As far as Sam Brown, he wasn't "filler" when he was brought in . He was legitimately thought to be a #1 type guy. He just didn't adapt as quickly or as well as expected. I think it's a crapshoot - and this year in particular with WR since the QB who will be throwing to them won't be doing it until summer (hopefully).

the guys who hit the portal will be about payday.

These was some of the top portal wrs according to 247. So who out this group is #1 wr?

Do you know what a #1 wr is? That’s an elite guy. There aren’t elite wrs just out there and that’s a fact. Maybe you guys definition of a wr 1 is different from mine

No, I don’t think #1 WR automatically means “elite”. If that’s the case, we haven’t had a #1 WR in over 20 years. You agree with that?

Yes I absolutely agree and it’s actually a fact. Richards had the potential to be that. Other than him we have had some good players but not at that level. Would you consider coley a #1?

It’s not a fact actually lol, its your opinion. I think a kid that had 1k yards on 50 catches at 18 years old in a P5 (at the time) conference is absolutely a #1 WR. Obviously injuries derailed his career but yes, he was a WR1. We can just agree to disagree big dawg, you got it.

Brown was never a #1. Off seeing him at Houston I did think he would be better than George and horton. On top of that he brought more speed than those guys. I was wrong

I agreed on Richard I just didn’t fully give it to him because he was basically hurt after that. But you basically just agreed with me. But anyway it’s clear the definition of it by some up here is just different than mine
