Joe Schad: Les Miles Could Be Fired By End of Today

No thanks. He's right up there with Richt as the top guys who have done less with more.

yep - that team was loaded. Look at his teams records...consistently loses 2-3+ games per year (including their NC year) while fielding consistent top 5 classes.

they play in the SEC west.....let's not get ridiculous here.

What's Miles' record in SEC games?

How many 10+ win seasons does he have?

How often has he had his team playing in January?

@SportsCenter: MORE: Boosters have already agreed to pay the $15-20 million needed to buy out Les Miles and his staff. https://t.co/Mglafb5b1L

Who would Fsu get to replace fisher with if he leaves for lsu?

Golden, please Lord, let it be Golden. They thought we were mean to want to fire him. They should hire him just to prove we where wrong.

If the lsu and fsu job open up we are going up against the big boys. We better be prepared to pony up.

The quality of this coaching search is already so much better

Strong then Chip then Les is much btr than what I thought we were going to look at

is this your gut feeling or does this position arise from empirical evidence?

I think with Les Miles you have the product of a ton of resources and unequal returns (the more you spend doesn't yield better returns):

Offensive Coordinator: Cam Cameron salary $1,500,000
Defensive Coordinator: John Chavis salary ~$1,300,000 (DC from 2009-2014)
Defensive Coordinator: Kevin Steele salary ~$1,000,000

* Ed Orgeron makes $650,000 and he is the DL coach*

The guy gets ALL these resources at the coordinator spot yet lost 14 times over the last 4 years (that number can grow this year). He does well but he doesn't exactly produce the type of success you should get when you spend these levels of money. LSU spent ~$5,500,000 last year in assistant coaches (the most), plus another $4,300,000 for Les' salary.

I bet there is possibly a strong correlation between not liking Les Miles and loving Cuban Al....wonder what the % is?

I don't want either one. Butch is the right choice. That said, anyone wanting Mario is stupid. Anyone wanting him instead of Miles needs to be deported.

I'm not a Butch Davis cult member, but I'd take Butch over Les 100 out of 100 times.

Interesting connection: Joe Dean, the former LSU AD, tried to hire Butch away from UM in the late 90s. Butch turned him down because he told Dean that his ultimate goal was to be a HC in the NFL and that he could get there more easily coaching at UM.

Some of these peoples expectations are completely rediculous, i just laugh at them. miles, kelly, richt, pagano all not good enough for the position of royal high chancellor of the Miami football gods. We hired AL ******* GOLDEN last time around, you should thank the heavens you get to even mention a miles or kelly in the same breath as Miami.

Agree. They are both 60 plus. They are both questionable on game day and have made some iffy OC choices. I question whether les has that desire right now. He's gonna get a pile of money and was already mentioning retirement.

LSU is firing Les for obvious reasons. Have you guys watched his teams the last few years? What makes you guys think he can win championships at UM when he can't beat a bunch of mediocre SEC teams the last few years? He can hire anyone he wants at LSU and has access to top 5 recruiting classes every year at LSU. What would the variable be that would make him have better results here?

Can't think of one. Other than possibly the coastal

the only problem with your logic is that they are going to dump up to $15MM more of bad money into the equation

This is what I was worried about and it looks to be a non issue

@DellengerAdv: Miles considering retirement? He said, "No, I'm not considering retirement." #LSU
