I think with Les Miles you have the product of a ton of resources and unequal returns (the more you spend doesn't yield better returns):
Offensive Coordinator: Cam Cameron salary $1,500,000
Defensive Coordinator: John Chavis salary ~$1,300,000 (DC from 2009-2014)
Defensive Coordinator: Kevin Steele salary ~$1,000,000
* Ed Orgeron makes $650,000 and he is the DL coach*
The guy gets ALL these resources at the coordinator spot yet lost 14 times over the last 4 years (that number can grow this year). He does well but he doesn't exactly produce the type of success you should get when you spend these levels of money. LSU spent ~$5,500,000 last year in assistant coaches (the most), plus another $4,300,000 for Les' salary.
