Jimbo rumor

He can make TAMU a power and that's good for him. Texas has many athletes just like Florida does. He can recruit Texas and the SEC states in talent alone and be okay.

He could possibly do that, I do agree TX has great athletes. I just don't think he's a top coach, I could be wrong we shall see. He won a NC with a great QB that bailed him out. Then the past few years a great rb bailed him out. Obviously so far he has been a very good recruiter though.

I don't think Jimbo is that great either. I believe he's benefitted from Miami and UF being down for 8+ years.
Guess we will see how great he is soon.

He's a 9-3 coach if he doesn't have a generational talent at the QB position.

No more, no less. He'll lose to Saban 80% of the time.

After having a lifer in Boobie Bowden, it must really sting FSU fans to replace him with a guy who would end up being a carpet-bagger corch that's bolting for the first decent opportunity he gets when things get a bit tough up in Tallahassee. Love it!

He gave em a ship...

Did anyone look at Texas A&M's schedule for next year?

Sep 8 (Sat) vs Clemson
Sep 22 (Sat) at Alabama

Dude is gonna be 2-2 and out of contention before October 1st.

7-5 the last few years w/o dalvin cook

TAMU is not and will never be a “power.”

TAMU's facilities are incredible. Perhaps the brass believe if they have "that" coach (and they obviously believe that's Jimbo), then that will propel TAMU into a "power", as you say. Being 90 minutes from Houston and the surrounding area is a huge benefit, particularly with great facilities and "that" coach. Houston and its HS football is similar to South Florida. Tons of talent almost in TAMU's backyard.

Jameis and Dalvin earned a ship. If jimbo was such a mastermind coach they wouldn't be 5-7 right now

Ah, some good 'ol boys will also hook him up with some points in various oil wells, a few other perks they'll throw in, and Jimbo will be set financially - and he's actually a dumbass if he's not already set financially.

This move will just give him a bigger pile.

Fans lately were really ragging on him, demanding he clean house with his assistants, etc. FSU fans are mostly responsible for this - gotta be careful what you wish for - you may just get it - and more.

Agreed. When i saw the clip of him going after that fan as he was headed down the stadium tunnel, I knew something was different. The fan yelled to tell him to can his assistant coach (which was not over the line), and Jimbo went off -- was ready to seriously kick the guy's a$$. That's something that a tried and true P5 Head Coach just ignores and keeps walking. He didn't yell anything obscene and he did not insult him or his family.

So when i saw that, i knew that 1) Jimbo can't handle pressure well, and 2) Jimbo is fed up, and the fan just happened to be the one who got caught poking the bear.

He's done with all that is Tally. TAMU is not a better gig, but it's a change of scenery plus more money. He has to go, because it would be a disaster if he decides to stay after all of this.

As a former player at ATM ( 80-84 ) I can tell you their facilities as well as everything else it top notch, second to none, and I think you are right in your assumption. Aggie gets the right guy they could be a power, but I cannot answer why they have continuously failed to get "that" guy, I turned Cane in 85 because of Jimmy and have not kept up so much with goings on in College Station. Bottom line I guess is they have ****loads of money and will spend it gladly to win football games

In addition to Jimbo and Brewster out, I want to see that bald fck who jumps up and down on the sidelines out. He's my most hated Nole and I don't even know his name.

I love love love The Cane's #1 always in my heart without a doubt, but Fack u if you think a job in Tx for football could not be a power. Cult like mentality to many, but Jimbo is not a game changer Coach. Power 5

Texas A&M is a sleeping giant, and with the right coach they absolutely can and should be a national power. It has everything a coach would want from a football program: massive state school (68K enrollment!), unlimited $$$$, rabid fan support, top-flight facilities, and (most importantly) being right in the middle of elite HS football talent.

Now, FSU is already a giant, so I still don't know why he'd leave unless it's the personal stuff. But A&M has the potential to be a dominant program if run right.

Anybody seen blackvern? We may need to get a support group ready. Miami doing well, FSU not and might lose their coach. He has hit some hard times.

This is literally what every single SEC program save Kentucky, Missouri and Vandy thinks.

It's a complete fallacy.
