Jimbo rumor

Jimbo's gonna make them drag this all the way through an embarrassing home game this weekend while his two conference rivals play for a shot at the title.

Anybody seen blackvern? We may need to get a support group ready. Miami doing well, FSU not and might lose their coach. He has hit some hard times.

Blackvern has his hurricane shutters on trying to ride out the storm that's coming.

TAMU is not and will never be a “power.”

TAMU's facilities are incredible. Perhaps the brass believe if they have "that" coach (and they obviously believe that's Jimbo), then that will propel TAMU into a "power", as you say. Being 90 minutes from Houston and the surrounding area is a huge benefit, particularly with great facilities and "that" coach. Houston and its HS football is similar to South Florida. Tons of talent almost in TAMU's backyard.

Perhaps they do. Or perhaps you don’t turn into a power because of “facilities.”

TAMU has always been located in the same place and has always invested money in their program.

After having a lifer in Boobie Bowden, it must really sting FSU fans to replace him with a guy who would end up being a carpet-bagger corch that's bolting for the first decent opportunity he gets when things get a bit tough up in Tallahassee. Love it!

He gave em a ship...

Jameis and Dalvin earned a ship. If jimbo was such a mastermind coach they wouldn't be 5-7 right now

I think the ship came before Dalvin.

Texas A&M is a sleeping giant, and with the right coach they absolutely can and should be a national power. It has everything a coach would want from a football program: massive state school (68K enrollment!), unlimited $$$$, rabid fan support, top-flight facilities, and (most importantly) being right in the middle of elite HS football talent.

Now, FSU is already a giant, so I still don't know why he'd leave unless it's the personal stuff. But A&M has the potential to be a dominant program if run right.

This is literally what every single SEC program save Kentucky, Missouri and Vandy thinks.

It's a complete fallacy.

Something's can be bliss. Cal, Tx, Fl. If your in the bubble of talent your elite unlike the other locations.

They have been finished for a while though?

You can play the "our QB died but our program is otherwise stable" card all year, but now the top is shook and they're gonna drag that staff out there against Louisiana Monroe trying to get into a bowl game that Jimbo won't coach.

Brutal optics.

Wow, the world is just strange. On what planet is the freaking Texas A&M job better than the FSU job? I get that they're likely going to overpay at a record amount but is the money that good to go there and lose to Alabama and LSU every season? Things must have REALLY gone off the rails this season in Tally beyond even what we saw on the field.

I bet the Aggies don't chew out the coaches directly and get into fist fights with the players they supposedly love.

He's a 9-3 coach if he doesn't have a generational talent at the QB position.

No more, no less. He'll lose to Saban 80% of the time.

LOL...He averaged 10 wins a season, & was 3-0 in bowl games before Jameis.

He also posted the first 10 win season for them since 05' in His 1st year.

You remember that he inherited a roster that had two first round QBs right? Manuel was what the 2nd best QB in FSU history by the time he was done.

If Jimbo doesn’t coach Saturday it can be an epic day. Who is gonna call plays for them?

The players could probably call their own plays and still beat Louisiana-Monroe.

To everyone else, what do you think Jimbo's record is with Johnny Manziel under center?

From what I understand he was going through a divorce about 2 years ago, maybe he feels a move to College Station can help him move on? I'm sure a huge amount of cash to move to Texas helps also though.

As much as I'd like to see FSU lose to Louisiana-Monroe, Blackman could probably draw up plays in the huddle on his center's jersey, playground-style, and whip ULM.

I'm not convinced FSU's players even WANT to go to a crappy bowl. They might just rebel and play dead on Saturday. I'd put nothing past that bunch.

True, but even Fisher said He didn't think Manuel was a 1st Rd. pick. And Ponder has turned out to be a bust.

They were both busts and Jameis is trending south real fast, but EJ Manuel was one of the best QBs in the school's history.
