It would be good for us short-term, but FSU is still a giant SEC-like state school with tons of resources. We're only fooling ourselves if we think they are going to be down for many years. With a decent coach hire, they have the ability to turn it around in a hurry. We need to fully take advantage of this opportunity to grab a stronger recruiting foothold in Florida relative to FSU and UF. Which I believe we are doing.

Funny though, if I was told at the beginning of this season that Jimbo would be gone on November 30, no way would I have believed it.

It doesn't matter if fsu goes down. We are the element that matters. We are coming back and that mean they are in trouble along with everyone else. Our gravitation pull is greater than either noles or gator.

I get that they're likely going to overpay at a record amount but is the money that good to go there and lose to Alabama and LSU every season? Things must have REALLY gone off the rails this season in Tally beyond even what we saw on the field.

Anyone who lives outside the state of Florida can see that A&M is a better job.

Bigger fan base, more money, more money for assistants and recruiting, better facilities, more respected conference, equal recruiting grounds. (South Texas and Louisiana)

TAMU hasn’t won a title in 80 years.

They have all that stuff and they haven’t won ****. They’ve had one top 5 finish in the last 50 years. FSU has 3 titles in the last 24 years and how many top 5 finishes?

It’s really not even a discussion, but obviously something else is at play with Jimbo personally to where he wants to leave.

The difference has been coaching

TAMU is a good coach away from being great. FSU is a mediocre coach away from being irrelevant.

That's how it is with college football. Coaching matters. FSU have been spoiled ever since Bobby Bowden with good coaching. But nothing lasts forever, and we both know hearts can change.

Yeah, TAMU has been a “coach away” for 80 years. It’s just a coincidence that nobody has ever been able to win there. It’s also just a coincidence that the major Florida programs have won 11 of the last 34 national titles and the Texas schools have one title in the last 40. Cause, ya know, the recruiting bases are better for TAMU than FSU.

Not really. He actually had a better record with Freeman (35-6, including a Natty), than with Cook (33-7).
