Jennifer Strawley, Like Blake James, Is Unqualified to Be Second in Charge at Such A Prestigious Football Program

TBH, I think Manny was hired in no small part because he’s Cuban.

Being black also didn’t hurt Randy getting the job, although he was hired in a large part because everybody was turning the Miami job down. IDK exactly what the story was in 06, although my suspicion is that the FIU brawl turned off a lot of people to the Miami job.
Nah, I think daddy’s SFLA reputation did it more than being Cuban, which of course is the cherry on the cool whip.

I don't like Blake James, but why do we only cherry pick his faults & never bring all of the good things that have happened since he's been here?

I forwarded it to Flake, Frenk, Straw-dog-faced-ley and every member of the Board of Azzholes...wheels that don’t squeak get no oil...
This is something that also should be done. It is free to create email accounts and not as difficult to organize. We need to set it up to where we have plenty of member bombarding the emails of these people. One disgruntled fan emailing them is nothing. If they are receiving literally hundreds to thousands of emails about the incompetence surrounding the unathletic department then it may garner some attention.

I agree, but how did a focus on diversity and inclusion lead to these coaching hires?

Coker was promoted by at the behest of players like Reed and Dorsey. Shannon was a misfire, but I don’t believe he was hired because he is black. He was a former Cane player, respected and then-current DC, and thought to be capable of cleaning up the program. He did some of that, but wasn’t a good coach. Golden and Richt were generic, one thought to be a young, up-and-comer, the other a seasoned successful veteran. Diaz wasn’t hired because he’s Cuban. His rehire was a knee jerk reaction.

The issue is not social engineering, it’s just not having a person with in charge with a background in running a successful athletic department.

Shannon had Shapiro running around, his own assistants didn't listen to him regarding the guy.

Doesn't matter if he "warned" people to stay away, that isn't enough

Not a very good article. It’s mostly a rehash of points that have been talked about, in greater depth, here. Still it’s another voice asking for positive change at Hecht, which needs to be sanitized of all the accumulated losers.

This is the first time I can remember a call out of this magnitude, going back to the Butch days. Especially with the administration/athletic department, seems like most media outlets were way too scared.

* Built an indoor practice facility (do you need another one after that?)
Before Mark Richt James practically did no fund raising for those 3 years. Richt is hired and kicks off the fundraising for an IPF. We raise over 36 million relatively quick. Richt is now gone and James is back to not running any campaigns to raise funds.

I think the vast majority of people are gonna credit Richt with the IPF than James.

Of course they are, because that's how these things work.

You simply try to discredit anything good that the source of the anger has accomplished as a way of making them look incompetent.

Not really true, actually. The glory years of Miami football are 83-92, and 00-02. That’s 20 years with a 7 year trough from 93-99 in there. Our all time win % is .630.

Clemson might pass Miami in win % by the end of Swiney’s tenure. And nobody argues Clemson is a historically strong program.

Clemson bought it, like Alabama. Not arguing the quality of the coaching, but buying recruits, the best of the best from all over engenders winning which engenders the ability to buy the best coaching staffs....blah blah fking blah.

One thing we will always have is that while we might have had some **** surrounding the program in the 80s and 90s.....we put in the work and did not have the luxury of an all 4-5 star 3 deep lineup.
