Jennifer Strawley, Like Blake James, Is Unqualified to Be Second in Charge at Such A Prestigious Football Program

Unfortunately what we need is a benefactor who can donate in the $100Ms and allocate a portion of that money to athletics, prominently football.

Football needs to be split and run separately from the rest of UM.

Let Hilarie Bass worry about UHealth, and let Julio Frenk worry about getting the government to give the school another $400 million this year in grants.

Let football people worry about football. Blake James is not a football person... nor is Jennifer Strawley.

Diaz wasn't hired because he's Cuban, or because his father was the mayor.

He was hired because UM does what it always does, they panicked.

They panicked at the thought of another coaching search.

They panicked at the thought of looking weak infront of the only constituents they care about--donors.

They panicked at the thought of losing Diaz, who many thought was destined to be our future head coach.

They panicked so much, they overlooked the critical mistake that was promoting Randy Shannon.

They panicked so much, they failed to realize that Diaz would have taken this job in 6 hours, 6 days or 6 weeks regardless of what his deal was with Temple.

The worst of all, they let a panicked Blake James drive the bus.

Not every good coordinator can become a good HC, and it takes a great AD to see the difference. Blake just sucks.

If anyone wants to give BLAKE FVCK!NG JAMES credit for signing adidas, then he should also get the blame for losing Nike.

Miami was the FIRST national university endorsement deal that Nike did. I love what adidas has done, but we should have been Nike forever.

Bro, say less. Trust me, I posted info about this whole matter.

Just see the love Adidas showed us from the beginning v. now. Look at what schools in Fla. are sponsored by Adidas and what schools are not and notice the commonality for the past 10 yrs. The fact that Adidas gave FIU our Miami Night's theme is all you need to know.

Well, it's been reported, my guy, that Sr. has some friends on the board who pushed the agenda to hire Jr. even though our biggest donor pushed for Mario.

Guys think about it who ultimately makes decisions on which direction a company goes.think about when we were winning bringing in millions/billions into the university and local economy.not one dime in the eighties or nineties went into upgrading the athletic facilities.every ncaa bylaw decision was aimed at the football and baseball program.this goes higher than blame question is are we fans powerful enough to uproot the problem.all the things we've done for 19 years hasn't got the message across.we need find that solution that gets it accross.ask a sen or rep to investigate it see if there's some kind of corruption high up at the university.because the way the athletic program is ra n seems like there is.

While other schools were reinvesting, this school was pocketing.

I'm sure he had advocates, no question about it, just as Mario did, but I don't think that's what got him gig in a few hours, that was Blake the Flake and his "vision" of Manny the HC. IMO.

Agreed, but to be honest bro.....I don't think Blake has any juice; he's a figure head. I continue to hear ppl say we need to hire an AD w/ autonomy. I think the BOT is just fine w/ status quo. So going back to the diversity matter, and it being a problem.....if Ms. Bass is all for diversity, there's a certain mind set that comes along w/ that; kinda like "heal the world, make it a better place, there's rainbows everywhere, unicorn chitting out skittles", type of mentality, if you get my drift.

Such folks don't care about an ethnic back ground, per say, but rather what are their principles. We need ruthlessness to win in today's landscape of CFB, and the BOT is more concerned w/ image. That's where the diversity inclusion crap can come back to hurt us.

If Manny has such big shots backing him, then they can buy him some 5-star recruits and some experienced assistant coaches.

Set him up to succeed.

Because right now, they've done nothing for him but throw him to the wolves. It won't be pretty for him unless he can somehow turn it around.

I think she’s hot. Like weird goat and foot fetish **** hot.

you have to understand this was done by design by those sorry people in charge not just at Miami either.back in the day Miami uprooted football landscape those in power took us down to get us out.why do you think the ncaa always makes decisions that always sets us back.think about it that article doesn't go deep enough.
So the ncaa has plants In the upper echelons of power at UM? Plants whose job is to destroy Miami football?

The author of this article clearly doesn't understand the process of hiring million-dollar employees. You always include a diversity officer to protect yourself from potential lawsuits. There is no indication that Mrs. Bass was providing input on coaching styles, schemes, or even candidates. I think it is pretty obvious she was only there as a CYA (cover your ***) for UM.

Yea but the NCAA is all about money. UM is a money making brand, and there’s no way those greedy scumbags are shooting a golden goose
True but we had corruption in the upper management of this program.plus the fact we didn't allow the ncaa to control us.plus when we were good we made the good ol boy teams look bad.those institutions didn't like that.look at the landscape of college football now.bama,Clemson and the others are doing underhanded things to get where they are at.ncaa looks the other way because they have control over them.
