Its time to start the rebuild...

We can 't go to a retread or keep somebody on staff. Konkol and Huger are doing well but not what we need. Caputo needs to get his feet wet elsewhere.

Caputo is garbage. He should have been fired years ago. The numbers below are pretty telling, but that is just me.

An interesting stat is Points Allowed Per Season:

With Huger and Konkol

2011-12: 66.1
2012-13: 60.6
2013-14: 59.5
2014-15: 63.3

Average Points Allowed: 62.4 PPG

Without Huger and Konkol (aka Caputo Time)

2015-16: 67.4
2016-17: 64.1
2017-18: 67.8
2018-19: 71.1
2019-20: 73.2
2020-21: 71.2

Average Points Allowed: 69.1 PPG

Please note the following:

1. In 2019-20 we allowed 73.2 PPG. (https://www.teamrankings.com/ncaa-basketball/stat/opponent-points-per-game?date=2020-03-12)

2. In 2020-21 we allowed 71.2 PPG. (https://www.teamrankings.com/ncaa-basketball/stat/opponent-points-per-game?date=2021-03-06)

3. Caputo, as you know, became our D coordinator/specialist in 2015-16.

Call Konkol and Huger, those guys should get interviews. I'd also call Anthony Grant and Randy Bennett over at Saint Marys, he's a guy that would do well at Miami, because he gets the most out of the talent he has, and he has no problem finding new recruiting pipelines.

I'd have those 4 as my first wave and then see what agents also call. That said, I'm not falling for fool's gold candidates like Frank Martin and whatever other "Miami Guy, Bro" candidates our fans pull out of their ***.

Atrocious.

1. Konkol has done nothing as of yet. But for Coach L, would you consider that name?

2. Huger has done nothing. But for Coach L, would you consider that name?

3. Grant. I guess his sub-par career at Dayton and Bama are turn-ons? One of these is not like the other...

14-17 (8-10) [Conference Win % = 44%]
21-12 (13-5) [Conference Win % = 72%]
29-2 (18-0) [Conference Win % = 100%]
14-8 (9-7) [Conference Win % = 56%]

4. Bennett isn't a bad name but there are much better names available.

5. Frank Martin is a loser regardless of where he is from. The same illogical nonsense, him being from Miami or a "Miami" guy, should be applied to your first 3 names.

I think even L’s most loyal slurpers have come to the realization that this program is a complete dumpster fire, and there’s no excuses left. It’s time to respectfully move on.

They're simps, they don't know any better. The problem is our leadership doesn't exist. I don't believe they think there is a problem.

I'm not saying we should hire Konkol or Huger, but Konkol is 125-63 at La Tech and 20-6, 12-4 this year.

1. Konkol hasn't accomplished anything.

2. If Konkol wasn't a Coach L guy, would you really consider him?

We literally will only have 4 non senior players on this team right now. Coach L turns 72 this year and we're definitely not winning anything next, no matter who the coach is. It's time to get a new HC and start the rebuilding process.
Indeed. Coach L was solid for a number of seasons but lost his juice about three years ago in my opinion. Unfortunately UM has a lifeless AD who has ZERO clue...will take lots of others within the program to make empowered decisions that will lead to positive results.

I have to think some alarms are starting to go off now. We literally don’t have enough players to have a team next year. I’ve never seen a team have a roster projected forward that looks like this. That’s even assuming Wong/Beverly/Walker all come back and I wouldn’t take that for granted. Unless Gak comes back we literally don’t have a post player on the team.

Get Konkol, Huger and especially Anthony Grant out of my face as potential replacements. Those are barely AAC level hires let alone ACC....which is why I fully anticipate they'll actually be our candidate pool in 2 years when L "retires".

1. Konkol hasn't accomplished anything, of note, before this season.

2. If Konkol wasn't a Coach L guy, would you really consider him?

3. If Konkol, can win the conference this year, he would have done something that Mike White NEVER did at LA Tech. If he wins the conference AND a game in the NCAAT, give him an interview.

Konkol has potential but hasn't done anything to warrant the job AS OF THIS MOMENT.
Hes the Mario for basketball

I said I'm not saying we should hire him

Two guys I'd love to see get interviews - both coaching assistants for the Knicks. Kenny Payne and Johnnie Bryant.

Really have no problem turning over the staff and letting attrition do its thing. Trot out a bunch of freshman/transfers/walk-ons and take your lumps for a few years.

Dennis Gates from Cleveland State should be a name considered here. He's one of the front-runners for the BC job but was at FSU for nearly a decade and was instrumental in helping build that program up.

We are in total rebuild mode. None of the coaches who caused this dumpster fire should be allowed to return and try to rebuild the mess they caused. Our program is in far worse condition now than when Larranaga took over. That I might add, is a sad indictment on a coach. He should graciously step aside. If we allow this 🤡 show to return, it will just set back our rebuild. Why would anyone want to come play here now? Why is he getting more grace than Richt or Morris?
