It’s been real

Everyone here…. thanks for the 8 years of wasting my time and shooting the **** talking Miami football. The downs were tough and the up’s… mainly in 2017 were great. 4 HC’s, many coordinators, searches, recruiting battles, breaking news, fake news… etc.

Met some of yall in person and chatted up in the DMs. Glad I could break Enos being gone for y’all. What a joyful time. Funny how it all comes full circle and here we are again with Tan Enos.

That being said.. I’ve been going through some depression and struggling with alcoholism to cope. Miami football isn’t doing me any favors and It’s making **** worse and potentially derailing my career.. and I’ve decided that being a fan isn’t the best thing for my wife and I as I only seem to drink on Saturdays anymore.

Thanks @DMoney @Cribby @LeedsCane @gogeta4 and everyone else that I’ve failed to tag. This place has been great but all good things come to an end. Sadly for Miami fans it always ends way too soon. This was the final straw. Maybe I’ll be back one day and we can prosper.

Have you visited our OT boards? All are welcome.

@JayCane20 I had this conversation with @IndayArtHauz last week , I was like “ why do I waste so much time on something that’s so frustrating and boring to watch”? It really makes no sense. Watching him go tempo then stop and look to the sideline as the play clock runs down made me snap lol. So I get this post.

Hey brother, you can’t let anything or anyone control you like that. I love these Canes. Started watching them in 98.

It’s definitely tough seeing people and things that you put so much emotional effort into completely fail and fall flat on their face. However, it has nothing to do with you. It’s not your fault. It’s not that serious.

A lot of people on this board will meme you saying you’re too soft. You’re not. You’re just too invested into something you have absolutely no control over.

As someone who has seen a lot of addiction in my family. Get that **** handled. Everything in your life will be better once you start to get that **** handled. These stupid *** Canes included because you will have a better grasp of your life and realize that it’s just a game.

I used to enjoy the pain and suffering. Honestly. It’s just changed the last few years.

Same for me. Real life started to become much more important.

When your "hobbies" or "entertainment" choices don't bring you enjoyment or help you escape from your real life BS, you do have to consider stopping them from being hobbies/entertainment choices. After the YEARS of this, i won't call anyone a fair weather fan. Those guys left a decade ago.

Solid decision JayCane. I quit going to games up here in NC about 3 years ago due to the product on the field. I go on fulfilling backpacking trips in the fall now. I watch the games on TV when possible and am good with my choices. Ineptitude won't be tolerated as my free time is at a premium.

Sometimes, when the distraction requires a distraction, it’s time. We watch football to have fun and forget about all the BS we put up with during the week. But when the product on the field sucks and makes you mad, I can’t blame you, OP.

That said, let me be 100% clear, I’m still going to watch this mess each week.

Be well,

Truest words on here.

I think today was also my give up point.

Sorry to hear that.

Life can get hard but do whatever is necessary to get better. Better days will come for you and just keep fighting.
