Is there any coach that could win championships at Miami?

Never said they were swimming with resources, but they sure have a ton more than UAB. And it's more than a nice story. It's a guy who has proven he wins at every level regardless of the situation.

It seems you have a bias against G5 coaches. If they haven't done it on the P5 level then you seem to exclude them. So no satterfield before he took over Louisville, no Meyer before he took over Florida. If that's your stance that's fine but you are limiting yourself and excluding some excellent coaches.

Satterfield????? He's 4-3. How in the world was that your example?

Urban Meyer went to Utah and went 12-0, winning a BCS bowl. He wasn't some obscure guy competing in the Sun Belt.

But according to you it's about P5 level experience. Utah wasn't P5 at that point. If you can't see Satterfield is a legit coach then I don't know what to say. Louisville was terrible last year and having them 4-3 at this point in season 1 is remarkable. Also, UAB is conference USA.

Brady Hoke says hello.

Urban Meyer was beating the mess out of P5 teams while he was at Utah.

Yes, I think there are coaches who would a.) accept this job, and b.) win titles here.

Clawson to me should be the #1 choice. Won every where he's gone, in mostly impossible situations (look at what he took over at Wake and Bowling Green). More importantly, he's shown an ability to identify very good coordinators (Mike Elko comes to mind immediately, also think he has a connection to Babers), win in difficult situations, and would be an adult in the room when this program needs it most.

I also think Kevin Wilson, current OC at Ohio State, would be able to build a national championship team here, so long as he brought in a good defensive coordinator. He got a bit of a raw deal at Indiana, but again, I look at results, and he obtained competence at a program that had never achieved anything coming close to it during his time there. The experience he's gained at OSU is an additional plus.

Yep. A guy that has actually done it at his current school. A school whose football program was shut down for two years and in the second year back went 11-3 and won the conference championship and this year is 6-1 after losing 30 seniors and replacing over half the starters.... No huge support and plays in a relic of a stadium that would make the OB in it's last days look like the Taj Mahal.....Bill Clarke (UAB HC).
HASN'T DONE IT AT THIS LEVEL!

Don't bother naming anyone else, there's an easy argument against every single coach out there.

I think that was a case where he was leaning UF, and Urban Meyer's hiring sealed the deal. But it certainly wasn't a case of Urban going in without knowing who Tim Tebow was.
2000 Bowling Green was 2-9
2001 Bowling Green was 8-3 with Meyer
2002 Utah was 5-6
2003 Utah was 10-2 with Meyer

Florida went from 7-5 to 9-3 under Meyer
Ohio State went from 6-7 to 12-0 under Meyer

I'll buy the talent argument at Florida & Ohio State, but come on... 2-9 Bowling Green and 5-6 Utah had talent for that big of a turn around?

Plus even though OSU & Florida had talent, theres a huge gap between talented and dominant, which happened almost instantly at both stops.

What does Brady Hoke have anything to do with anything. He's not a good coach. He was 34-38 at Ball State and 13-12 at SDSU before he got to Michigan.

Ah, see, you have to learn from history. Brady Hoke went to Michigan and immediately went 11-2. Great hire from G5, right? Satterfield, right? How did Brady Hoke turn out?

Satterfield going 4-3 at a program that has won 8+ games in five of the last six years isn't "remarkable".

Wait, what? Were you under the impression that I was arguing against Urban Meyer? I think he's phenomenal.

I just dont think he just piggy backed greatly talented squads. Imo he just ascended and teams look more talented after he gets there because he is the f*cking man, thats all.

Yeah, no question that he made them all better. But he was absolutely strategic about finding the right stops.
