Is there any coach that could win championships at Miami?

Yes, most certainly they could get a hire correctly. It would likely be through finding the right guy, mixed with some luck, more so than spending top dollar (which we can't) for a top dog.

Does anyone really believe that anyone thought Howard would bring a national championship home like he did? No disrespect to the man, but you couldn't hire a guy who looked and talked less Miami than him at the time. He did it though and the rest is history. In the same breath, half of the fans wanted to run Jimmy out of town right away, thankfully it didn't happen.

With the current BOT, AD, and lack of boosters to pay recruits?
Yep. A guy that has actually done it at his current school. A school whose football program was shut down for two years and in the second year back went 11-3 and won the conference championship and this year is 6-1 after losing 30 seniors and replacing over half the starters.... No huge support and plays in a relic of a stadium that would make the OB in it's last days look like the Taj Mahal.....Bill Clarke (UAB HC).

How has he done in his recruiting battles against Alabama and Clemson? Oh, he's never done that.

Lol what coach has? We aren't getting Meyer. So if that's your qualification we might as well shut down the program.

It's proof that we want any dude who wins games at his FCS-level school. Competing for championships as a P5 school requires more than outscheming Old Dominion.

First UAB is G5. He's won at every level he's been at. This isn't his first HC job. And do you have any clue how hard it is to win at a doormat of a program that was shut down for 2 years and then 2 years later winning the conference. It's more than just out scheming. He's had to literally rebuild a program with very limited resources.

Bill Mutha fckin Clarke.

Undoubtedly he would struggle his 1st yr just coming to a bigger conference, but I believe he would have us humming by yr 3 fa sho, w marked improvements by yr 2. Big Bill Clarke fan.

Great, but that is not the requirement at Miami. A different skill set is required.

Naw bro; he went from FCS to G5. Took a FCS school to their 1st playoffs in many years, 1st yr. Took a folded UAB program and improved them every year until winning the conference & bowl game in yr 3.

He’s a HS coaching legend as well. From Alabama, went to school up North. He’s tracking like Urban is (not saying he’s Urban).

I think he would be a great hire. His players DO run through walls for him.

If not him, then Rhuel from Baylor.
