Is there any coach that could win championships at Miami?

Absolutely. If Miami gets serious about football it is entirely possible. Clemson wasn't a big money program when they hired Dabo. They weren't pouring millions into recruiting and facilities. Dude was on the verge of being fired in year 3. As a matter of fact, the program was in the red. Clemson was all built on Dabo's elite recruiting abilities until he matched up the talent with a great OC and DC. If he doesn't hire a relatively unknown OC from Tulsa, Dabo is unemployed right now. He just had an eye for building a staff and recruiting.

Richt was appallingly bad at building a good staff. Horrendous. Yet an uninspired Richt had Miami undefeated and #2 going into the last game of the regular season. After Golden, 95% of posters were saying Miami would never win 10 games again.

Miami can right the ship quickly with a smart AD who picks the right head coach, who picks a good staff.

Personally, I'd hire Les Miles as he has changed his philosophy on offense. As far as I can tell, he has no Achilles heel anymore.

Going to the Big 12 looks like it woke him up.

You know Miles will bring the defense.

With him aggressively seeking a top notch offense, he would get players to sign.

We would have a hard time doing better for the price.

The problem is there are about 3-4 coaches that are elite. Everyone else like Gundy is someone that can go 11-1 or 6-6 depending on the year. Thats just the way CFB is now.

Manny is not the right option but whoever it is will be just like the other good coaches in CFB, anywhere from 11-1 to 6-6 some years. (maybe a bit better than 6-6 because we are in the worst division in college sports) Unless we got lucky and got the next elite coach. In which case he would bolt for the NFL or better college job when the opportunity presented itself.

Les Miles won a national championship. He is an unbelievable recruiter. They say an old dog cant learn new tricks but he took a year off and came back believing in spread offenses. Career win % higher than .700

Dude's sitting in Kansas making less than Manny. I am a big Leach fan, but Miles has none of the personality quirks or questions of whether he can win big games. He won the SEC as many times as Richt in 5 fewer years and a national championship.

On a scale of 1 to 10 for hires (with Meyer being a 10 and Manny Diaz as a 1), Miles is a 9. He was a 5 before he showed he believes in spread offenses, now he doesn't have any major flaws in terms of recruiting, experience, competition level, clutchness, savagery, strategy, salary, good situation (like Cristobal), buyout, or personality quirks. Pretty much the total package.
