Is FSU Actually Good?

Am I on crazy pills? I'm seeing multiple posters say they want FSU to beat UVA because it's more fun to play an undefeated FSU. What in the actual F### is going on?

It’s called being a cuck.

Something these CIS nole fanbois should be very familiar with, since one of their all time semenhole heroes, Jimbo Fisher, was a certified cuck himself (he’d sit in a corner and watch while a gaturd player would rail his wife)

He is a shorter and smaller Byrum brown is a big boy. He is quicker. They have fast WR if our communication holds up we should be fine on the backend. Our offense RB will take over and if Beck plays at least C level or better he can take shots on them. I see a 41-17 if Beck gets his form back if not 31-17 game. I believe we will do the same game plan as Florida control the game with running game. They will get a few long TD. But little tommy will want no part or Bain.
Agree 100%, Bain and Mesidor are gonna eat, Lil Timmy is gonna see ghosts all night. I don’t think we get to 41 tho. Mario gonna want to put long *** drives together. I expect a 31-17 game with a similar TOP domination than against UF.

They are uncomfortable to play against. Malzahn has the athletic talent on offense to fully run his gimmick scheme, which will put extreme focus on setting the edge and us tackling on the perimeter. Their blocking is solid, but most of the work is done with misdirection and option.

Malzahn never had special plans for those big games vs Saban. If anything, he made it even more simple, running four different plays out of the same exact look. But his schemes in regards to throwing the ball are very basic and Castellanos isn't the most talented thrower.

Their defense remains the same scrappy unit they had a year ago. They'll allow stuff, but we won't find ourselves finding big play after big play. I expect them to copy Floridas strategy.

It'll be a tough one to play. That's for sure.

The Bama game was closer than the narrative being spun

Ding ding ding. I mean look at the stats of the game also. I thought they destroyed bama until I went back and loooked at the stats. Bama also had 8 penalties for 70 yards

Their D is about to get 30 plus put up on them on Friday. UVA can score and their QB was just named ACC QB of the week.

I agree.

I also think Ga Tech drops at least 1, maybe 2 ACC games.

They also play Pitt, NC state and they play Duke

I don’t think our LBs are slow

I didn't quite say they are slow. What Wes and Mo lack is good lateral quickness. I think they are great from a moving forward attacking perspective but side to side is more challenging. Against a guy like TC, those LBs have to have their head on a swivel. Scott is going to be critical.

Our defense last year would have a chance to make FSU look like that UNC game from years back honestly

But like you said with Scott and the way Mesidor and Bain are playing aggressive but incredibly disciplined on the edges…totally different team

Bamas defense panicked to me. That whole “quick sand” thing. I don’t see it happening to us but our offense can help out here as well grinding out drives and taking FSU out of their rhythm. I could see some explosives a la South Florida where sometimes it just happens against a QB that can run but if we just play our game we should be good to go

I want to go back and watch our game against Boston College in 2023.

Obviously personnel is much different but if I remember correctly we kept Castellanos mostly contained outside of a play or two

If you watch the Alabama game, the reason FSU won wasn't complex.

-Bama continually rushed 3 and allowed TC and the running game to get chunk plays
-They ran the same reverse twice that netted them 65 yards between the two
-They connected on a deep bomb against one the slowest CB I've ever seen

They had 152 yards passing and had 104 of those yards on 2 plays. They ran the ball 49 times for 230 with 65 yards coming on the same reverse play and then 78 from TC.

I bring all this up because it comes down to Miami playing disciplined. This is like the GT Paul Johnson offenses. They're trying to pop big plays. If they get them then it's a looong day. But if the defense gets comfortable with the system, and they don't get those plays, then they have little to fall back on. Having two weeks to prepare for this offense is huge.

I have faith the DL will be disciplined. I have faith they'll somewhat contain TC. It comes down to the edges and the deep balls.

If we don’t stay disciplined, Malzon’s offense will kill us, but if we play sound assignment football, and play our game on offense we’ll beat them

IMO, this game will come down to Beck. Our OL will give him all day but FSU won’t let us run all day. Lots in the box.

On D, we are likely to have a few missed assignments similar to ND. Our DL will be better than their OL.

Higher scoring game than UF and FSU will also tire out giving us another big 4th quarter.

21-14 at half. 42-24 final Miami

Don't think we should downplay FSU's win vs Bama. Sure it's not Saban's Bama but they are still loaded with talent. FSU ran for 230 yards on 4.7 ypc and held Bama to 3.0 ypc. I'll take our trenches over theirs obviously but FSU's looked solid against very good talent. You can make up things like Bama was unprepared or hungover or overconfident but that's just media narrative we don't know is true (maybe it is idk). Excited to learn more about both FSU and Bama this weekend. Btw they're probably poking holes in our wins the same way - Florida offense is maybe the worst in the power 4, ND defense didn't look great vs Tamu or PURDUE, etc.

That being said, I got Miami 48-10.

I think we’re clearly better, and we’re going to find out a lot about FSU’s defense on Friday night. But, what I will say is that all the gadget guys FSU have fit Gus’s system perfectly. Castellanos fits what Norvell needs in his offensive scheme to maximize success. Tony White is a good DC, and this defense had talented players that played hard last year for their limp 2-10 squad.

It won’t be a cake walk, but I do expect to win.

Yes, they are good…A top 25 team, can't give them anymore than tha just yet. I don't think they will end up being elite, but who knows... But they are good. Big speed on offense, with a good stable of backs and Mazahln/Norvell have a common quality that they generate rush explosiveness and can get the most out of a mobile QB.
