Is FSU Actually Good?

I plan on breaking down the Bama game flim this week. I know they bullied Bama which may have been some shock as we all expected Bama to dominate. Still they only beat Bama by 14 at home and had 41 more total yards than Bama, 382-341. How many yards did they have to get against the 2 sisters of the poor to avg. 628 ypg? We are about to crush them in Doak. They better play 2 high S's or this gets ugly. They aren't holding Miami to 87 rushing yards. If the best player for FSU practice, gets his carries, I will predict Lyle has more than 87 yards himself.

An A would include having at least 1 guy that's above a day 3 pick in the draft. Don't think they have that on offense. Maybe Pettus
NFL potential is irrelevant for me, I’ll take a Danny Wuerfell over a Justin Fields any day on Saturdays.

Hypothetically, let's say this was week 10 of the season. And there was a team (let's call them "SFU" in this scenario) that had decisively won its opening game against a SEC team that won 9 games the year before and looks to be a little bit worse this year. And then the next 9 games they played FCS teams and obliterated each of them by 8 TDs. Would you say SFU has an "A" offense or say it is impossible to give any rating since they played a laughably easy schedule? Personally, I'd throw out 8 of the games and have just one game as a data point. So whatever I graded them out for the opener is what their grade would be in week 10.
I hear you. Probably the reason not to do this thing so early in the season. FSU schedule is what it is. Only thing they can do is their part… which they’ve done extremely well. #1 offense. That’s an A for me.

So I assume we are having a UVA-FSU game thread Friday Night?

Who are we for? We hate the Noles, but we'd like an undefeated showdown game at the Doak.

To answer the OP's question succinctly, yes, they're good. But they haven't faced an OL or DL like this yet. Unless Beck sh*ts the bed I think we have an advantage. But it wouldn't shock me to see an old school UM/FSU 17-14 type game.

Nah we need them undefeated. But ideally a close, physical, emotional game they eek out would be perfect. But I think they win handily.

Have to be for the Noles. Undefeated vs Undefeated you simply can't beat that.

No, a Miami Hurricanes fan does not ever "have to be for the Noles."

Florida State with a loss is always better than an undefeated Florida State.

The Miami Hurricanes don't ever need FSU undefeated.

FSU will not be as conservative as the Gators which I am excited about.
Sure, there is a potential for big plays but also turnovers because they are actually going to try and attack us. I expect some tip balls for picks and fumbles cause Castellanos will try and do too much instead of just being patient in the pocket.
Idk I actually think they’re going to come out very aggressive , they’re going to try things they havnt before to catch us off guard

Here’s how I see the upcoming Miami vs. FSU game shaping up — of course, there’s always uncertainty, but based on recent performance and what I know so far, I lean toward Miami (Hurricanes) pulling off the win. I’ll also lay out the factors on both sides so you can see the reasoning.

🧐 What’s going for each team

Miami’s strengths

  • Miami is 4-0 in non-conference games so far. They just beat Florida 26-7 in impressive fashion.
  • Their defense has looked strong, especially at limiting big plays, controlling third downs, and winning physical battles.
  • Offensively, they have good balance, a capable running game, and enough skill at quarterback and receiver to make FSU’s defense have to respect multiple threats.
FSU’s case

  • FSU has looked good in parts, especially in non-conference blowouts. Their young players are showing flashes, like Micahi Danzy having big plays (a 60-yard run + reception game) recently.
  • They have momentum too; they are building confidence coming into conference play.
  • Their quarterback (Tommy Castellanos) has played well so far, and if he’s on, and FSU can establish rhythm and limit turnovers, they have a shot.

🔮 Key variables and what could decide the game
  • How well FSU’s defense can slow down Miami’s run game and prevent long, sustained drives. If Miami controls the clock and wears down the Seminoles, that leans toward Miami.
  • Turnovers and special teams: in rivalry & big games, those often swing the outcome. Penalties, muffed punts/kicks, INTs — FSU will need to stay clean.
  • Game location, injuries, and which team executes better under pressure in the 4th quarter. Miami has recent experience in high-intensity situations; if FSU can keep composure, they might make it close.

✅ My Prediction

I project something like Miami 30, FSU 20 or maybe a 30-17 win for Miami. I think Miami’s defense + balanced offense gives them an edge, especially in the second half.

Thank you for always being honest. Too many posters letting their hate cloud their judgement. This will definitely be our toughest test so far this season.

Night game at Doak in front of a rabid crowd. They’re going to throw the kitchen sink at us. Mario has to have our dudes focused and ready to take a haymaker from the beginning. If we can withstand the first 15 minutes and control the ball ending in TD’s, we’ll have a good shot at getting out of there with a W.
This is how I feel about the game

He is a shorter and smaller Byrum brown is a big boy. He is quicker. They have fast WR if our communication holds up we should be fine on the backend. Our offense RB will take over and if Beck plays at least C level or better he can take shots on them. I see a 41-17 if Beck gets his form back if not 31-17 game. I believe we will do the same game plan as Florida control the game with running game. They will get a few long TD. But little tommy will want no part or Bain.
I think the USF QB is a better athlete.
