Is FSU Actually Good?

FAFO. People around here still don’t know that it’s possible to rebuild your roster in one offseason. They think 2-10 is carrying over to this year.
That’s exactly what happened with Bama. Wasn’t the spread for that game around two touchdowns?

Canes fan until I am dead and buried. PFF uses admittedly subjective analysis to determine big-time throws and there is no doubt that his number is inflated because East Texas A&M and Kent State are terrible.

He was a terrible passer last year and he still could be that terrible! I want to see him throw 9 picks as badly as you do, but I am just calling balls and strikes here.
Even if people believed in bama, he was 9-14 for 152 yards and 0-0 TDs or picks... That's the only balls or strikes I'll concede. East Texas a&m or Kent are simply intentional walks. No different from beck against Bethune. I don't need to hear his stats to know what I've always seen. I did okay in life due to knowing the man across from me. That dude is poo put. That's not the emotion in me. That's just seeing things objectively. He's **** good with the ball in His hands. But that's not my point nor is it what I personally want out of a QB. Hes a playmaker and that's fine. But he ain't no QB. Reason he left bc is cause the coach suggested getting him reps at wr. That's what he should be playing. Might actually be a game changer if he can catch.

Serious question. Do you think Bama is better than Notre Dame or Florida? I think they are clearly better than Florida and might be a toss up with ND.

they are basically the same 9-4 team they were last season. They returned 14 starters, 5th most in the P4. I think they downgraded at QB. UVA has a better offense than Bama.

Notre Dame is coming off playing in the title game. They have a true freshman QB that I think will be a high first round pick. They have a better OL and DL than Bama.

If the two teams played today, I think Notre Dame would beat Bama, and it wouldn’t be a nail biter.

They're a solid team, but I've felt better about this game as the season goes on. They have an offense that's heavily reliant on rhythm, pace, etc. and everything going "right." But when they play Miami, they're going to get brutalized on the lines in a way they haven't seen before. Miami's going to physically punish them. Our guys are more battle tested, too. Beck especially.

My worry is that they get some big plays early on as we adjust and our offense struggles to catch up. We need to go up early. We really need Beck to play his best game of the regular season. It's going to be a tough game but we have the make up to beat them.

I hate to say it, but they look excellent so far this season.

I know that they’ve only played Baga, and every other game they played and beat the snot out of the sisters of the poor. But good teams destroy crap competition, and that’s exactly what they’ve done.

We’re gonna have to slow down the tempo and try to have long drives that eat up lots of clock and end up in TD’s. If we do that and keep their offense from getting in rhythm, then we have a good chance of winning.

It's even harder because Alabama has looked really good since they played FSU, albeit against bad teams.

But a 70+ point shutout against Monroe is pretty crazy. And then they throttled Wisconsin, who is bad.

It's just so early in the season still. That's why I keep saying how interested I am to see fsu play UVA this week. That game tells me a **** of a lot, IMO, even though it's only UVA.
Go back and watch the bama game. Bama looked asleep and slow and was the worst tackling game since a Manny Diaz team. Not sure it was FSU imposing their will

I watched it. Not disagreeing with you. It was weird, Bama definitely looked like they were hungover or something.

I'm just saying, they lined up against Bama, and FSU won the game physically. They didn't win because of trick plays or bad calls or a crazy bounce. FSU won that football game, convincingly. And that's all I'm curious about....is FSU really good enough to beat teams like Bama consistently, or was that one of those "stars all aligned" games where FSU played over their heads and Bama played like total assjuice?

We start to find out the answers on Friday, and then next week when a team who will most certainly NOT be asleep and slow comes calling.

I, too, am eager to see how F$U looks at Virginia. F$U is only favored by 7. Do they blow UVA out, or will they stumble and come back down to Earth? Stay tuned, we’ll be right back after these messages.

I do think FSU is a solid team and the stars did align. I really paid attention to LOS it really didn't seem elite from either team particularly on FSU side. Will be watching Friday night

Coordinator hires were good. Malzahn is the only threat to us so long as we communicate well and spy castellanos. Problem for them is although castellanos is a better rusher than brown or bj gagway he's a far worse passer than brown and just as inconsistent as gagway. Their front 7 ain't even on the same level as ND or ufag. But they do have several explosive players. Long as we ain't complacent and remain focused on our keys we dog walk these ******* too. Them being top 10 from being unranked just by beating a **** bama squad and the girls YMCA twice is wild. But it works for us

bissainthe or toure need to knock that little ****** castellanos out.

As stated, I will be watching their game against UVA.

But if anyone is already familiar with their OL, I'd love to hear some in-depth thoughts as to that group.

Just to busy at work to get deep into it prior to Friday's matchup.

Agree with this. The key is limiting explosives, which of course is challenging because that's what they do.

They already have 6 plays of 40+ yards in their 2 FBS games. Last year, they had 11 in 11 FBS games.

Danzy and Lucas can scoot. Robinson is big and can go get the ball. But if we keep everything in front and don't let the fast kids get loose for massive gains, we'll win big. They're not going to have 8 or 10 play drives against us. Especially if we're keeping them in passing situations.

Castellanos will create some plays with his feet, I expect them to be a lot better on offense than UiF was but I just don't see them getting 30+ on this defense and I fully expect us to get there on offense.

I'm hoping for a loss. But an FSU close win over UVA will definitely get

"we kept it vanilla and I'm sure the boys were looking ahead to next week when we put the country on notice"

I had the same reaction. Bama OL is big and strong, but not nearly as athletic as I expected. FSU was able to get pressure on passing downs because of it. I saw nothing FSU OL or DL did that led me to believe they are any better than UF's lines.
