Interesting point re: our offense

Hes going to have a good/great run game and I'd be willing to bet our receivers don't lead the country in drops. I also don't think our OLine will give up 25 sacks. These are all the things he dealt with last year. We'll be fine on offense.
Agree, however, the difference between making the ACCCG and not making may be the difference between the offense being "fine" and being "good."

Cam Ward is to Carson Beck as Kobe Bryant is to Rip Hamilton

Didn’t help that our options for screens were:

A physical specimen that couldn’t catch
A 150 pound guy that came up limping at an almost Stacy Coley-esque rate
4.8
Someone who can apparently only catch the ball when he’s wearing a garbage bag over his jersey who I’ve yet to see make a single defender miss

But yeah, short side screens are one of the most infuriating play calls in football to me.
That's a good point. We got gadget guys like Marion and Lofton, which like you said is something we didn't have in 2024. I pray Dawson utilizes these two to their full potential, specifically Lofton

I like Dawson but the screen game is a little baffling at times

We seemed to run it to the short side of the field with less quick and elusive players

I might be misremembering but felt like that was one thing I couldn’t understand

I love the screen game in a game like this but I think we could have done it a lot better with some simple changes

Granted I’m just some ****head message board poster
He ran the screen to the short side a good bit, not all the time. Your point on the players he ran it with, I think that was just due to the personnel. He ran it with the ppl he trusted. Who r the elusive players on the team last season, Ray Ray and Chris Johnson, neither one made that jump and gained his trust.

Agreed. I’m not a person that was yelling things about innovation or asking for Chris Johnson to get reps. We had an elite offense just looking for a few things as the personnel evolves is all

Yes I can agree with this

Not really a joke though it’s basically how people have been describing Beck

Big ol ugly white guy
Fundamentally sound
Efficient
Dirty work
15 and 10
Off topic but the Raptors going from being talked about as one of the best run operations in the league to paying a starting five of Immanuel Quickley/RJ Barrett/Brandon Ingram/Scottie Barnes/Poeltl a combined roughly $165 million in 2026 is incompetence bordering on Miami-esque.

I agree 100% with this D, but it’s important to at least mention the flipside of cams style, which is mind-boggling interceptions he threw playing like that. Don’t get me wrong, he also made amazing plays too but he also made terrible plays with that style. That’s why I continue to believe, that our offense will be more efficient this year because Beck won’t make those same mistakes, he’ll take the check down if it’s open. Which with our offense, 99.9% of the time it is open. At the bare minimum, if Cam takes the check down at Georgia Tech, we win that football game and we’re in the playoffs.
Do you think our offense will resemble the style of play we hoped to have in 2023? By that I mean the TAMU and GT games. In the GT game it was revealed to the world that TVD cannot be trusted downfield so everything changed, but in those 2 games our gameplans were aggressive, fast, and attacking all over the field.

I have seen the media and certain insiders saying we are going to revert to a mario style offense that moves the chains, pounds the rock, and controls possession. Do you think we will have that identity, or does dawson let the boys loose with an explosive attacking offensive scheme like he hoped for in '23?
"certain insiders" is a very unreliable source.

cam ward came to our ****** little team and made us believers. he single handedly willed us to a 10 win season. The dude is an alpha dog, super charismatic, and he always reps the U. I will always watch and follow the dude, seeing him makes me happy. I just dropped coin to get a combo of nfl ticket and paramount + to watch cam every sunday. i've been a canes fan, season tickets, for a long time and have suffered for the last 20 years. i sat in my seat when my bandwagon season ticket holding friends gave them up, my children stopped going to games, and calls to friends went unanswered. I've witnessed onion's loss to UVA at the closing of the orange bowl, the rat****er nevin shaprio years, golden being put out of his misery against clemson, rinse and repeat. i've earned this opinion . . . here it is: saying if cam ward checks down and dumps it off in the GT game we likely would have won the game, is not heresy, blasphemy, or apostasy. thank you for letting me express my opinion.

On baseball: "I played shortstop, pitcher, third base, I was in the outfield a couple of times. I played catcher a little bit, too. I liked the infield better. There's just more action in it than being in the outfield."

On what he took from baseball to the football field: "That every throw can be from a different angle, but you just got to know the velocity that you have to put on it. I think that's why we can hit our screen game so well. We had a big change from Week One to now, our screen game got way better. That’s me being more accurate on the touch and velocity of the screen game on the ball."
