Interesting point re: our offense

You gotta have a hose to play 3rd base

There are very few QBs I'd rather have than Beck this year. That being said, I don't full agree with him being categorized as a "safer" QB that makes the easy throws / check downs unlike Cam. His INT rate was almost double Cam last year (2.7% vs 1.5%). Beck, like Cam, also made some risky/dumb throws last year. Hopefully with a better OL, OC, and run game that comes down to his 2023 level (1.4%).

Do you think our offense will resemble the style of play we hoped to have in 2023? By that I mean the TAMU and GT games. In the GT game it was revealed to the world that TVD cannot be trusted downfield so everything changed, but in those 2 games our gameplans were aggressive, fast, and attacking all over the field.

I have seen the media and certain insiders saying we are going to revert to a mario style offense that moves the chains, pounds the rock, and controls possession. Do you think we will have that identity, or does dawson let the boys loose with an explosive attacking offensive scheme like he hoped for in '23?
That A&M gameplan on offense had me ready to tell every lie imaginable. Had some really creative wrinkles in that game plan if I recall correctly, especially in the red zone. I think there was a motion play that we faked run and had Colby Young spring open in the flat for a TD and then we had Jacolby George fake speed motion and then hit back outside where TVD faked the run and had him wide open in the flat again. Just wonderful playcalling that day.

That was an awesome game

The offense will be Shannon Dawson's offense. He's not going to do anything different. He wasn't running Cam on designed runs, etc. that he won't run this year. I'm not saying he won't have personnel wrinkles and/or different plays than last season. Of course he's going to continue to evolve and adapt his offense to the pieces he has to play with. But it's going to be his offense and very, very similar to what we ran last year.

There is nothing that Dawson asked Cam to do last year that Beck can't do. What Beck likely *won't* do is improvise as much in the pocket. But they're both big, strong, elite throwers of the football with pinpoint accuracy. And Beck will likely be afforded similar time to throw that Ward was last year. The offense really shouldn't miss a beat, provided we have dudes who can catch it when it hits them in the hands. That's my biggest worry on the entire offense. I know Dawson will keep the system QB friendly. I know the OL is going to give Beck a lot of time to throw, more often than not. I know when Beck is afforded a lot of time to throw, he is one of the literal most accurate passers of the last several seasons, not just in the country this year. So, when the QB has time, and he throws to an open receiver, and the ball is delivered accurately....can the receiver catch it? The group last year did this very, very well. I need to see it from this group. Especially Week 1, ND has the best secondary we'll see all year. There's not going to be limitless opportunities to catch passes in space. When we get them, will we make the plays? On 3rd and 8, when Beck hits someone in the chest with a football 13 yards down the field, they gotta hold onto it. We had a kid last year named Xavier Restrepo, if a ball was thrown anywhere near him, he caught it. **** near every single time. We got kids this year who will do the same? If so, this offense will be lethal again.

I'd guess that was the plan for our offense all season. Then we found out the hard way that TVD can't read the field or process quickly. Beck can. An offense like that with Beck and co. will look like a completely different animal than Bobos ****** offense. I really hope we let our athletes loose and don't play like a big 10 team

That’s a dope comparison. For the college level purely

Cam is like Dame Dolla or Jamal Murray

Carson Beck is like Evan Longoria or David Wright
