If Rick is truly committed to winning...

If he demotes his son then i would be convinced he's looking out for UM's best interest. If not, then I know what to expect for the next 10 years.

He doesn't have to demote his son. Let him keep his title title. Whoever he brings in as OC will work with the QB, too.

...and isn't just looking to compete for second in the Coastal he'll call Briles or Sark as soon as the season ends and hire one of them to run the offense. He can coach QBs to satiate his coaching tooth. But he needs to be a savage and hire a savage to run this offense if he wants to build UM into a champion.

I like your posts and genuinely agree with a lot of what you say, but let me ask you this since you seem to think this is all on Richt....How did we as a program and fan base go from, "Big time players, make big time plays, in big time games," too "we have a lousy coaching staff and it's all their fault"

You're someone that never puts any blame on the kids, but they're the ones out there consistantly messing up. news flash when we were great we had great players or even players who made the plays that were there to be made. We haven't had that in a long time, but it's not all on the coaching, play calling, or even Richt.

For example in the biggest drive of the game our 4* S. Fl guy barely got a hand on a reserve 2* spot playing DE. I thought even 2* S. Fl kids were better than 4*/5* star from everywhere else? Chise stop crying

Briles with S. Florida talent oh my.
Briles would put up 80 every week.

This reminds me of when Petrino was wasting away at Western Kentucky, and I was screaming for us to fire Folden and hire Petrino after Folden crapped the sheets in the Rustle Bowl and followed that up by sneaking off to PUS to beg for that job.

I hear you, but let's just look a Golden for example.

The entire 2013 starting Offense IS PLAYING IN THE NFL.

Right now, we have at the very least 6 future Pros starting on Offense. Certainly more than UNC has on Defense (as I said, I'm not sure they have a single player drafted on Defense this next year). Why are we struggling to put up points against them, or anyone else?

It's also worth noting that Richt has put an obscene amount of pros into the NFL.

I don't want to be another UGA (and yes, I know his records at UGA).

UNC is starting a walk-on.

Anyone still rambling about talent and players not executing likely has a double-digit IQ

WOW and LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL if you think we have 6 starting pros on this offense. Please name the guys on this offense that will start next level?

You think Coley, Kaaya, Njoku, ummmm i'm struggling to see any other player on O that will start in the pros because none of these three with the exception of Njoku will see any real action based on their play throughout their careers

My other issue is if richt does step down from calling plays will he keep his system and have someone call from that or scrap it and run a completely new system

That's the thing - having RPO as a facet of your offense is fine. Knowing when to use it and having it complement other formation styles is the key.

1 bad game? Maybe it's the players fcking up. Sucking every week and being a mishmash of **** on offense? It's the coach. He's getting nothing out of a bunch of future NFL players. This is the same thing we saw with the defense the last several years.

I can assure you that Kaaya, Njoku, Herndon, Walton, Yearby, Coley, Richards, and Linder will be playing on Sundays. They may not be stars, but I'd put money on all of them getting at least drafted.

can't hire briles with sexual exploitation scandal at baylor. i mean we could pull some strings . . . maybe richt can have trump pardon sandusky and then bring both sandusky and briles on board . . . with diaz going to fiu and all

Doesn't matter...even if by some miracle from god that he admits he's the screaming ****s at calling plays and hires one of those guys they'll be gone in one or two years and well be back in same position. And that's with a ****ty head coach at the mercy of his coordinators.
I'd be completely fine with that .. I would love to watch just 1 season of good football ... I think we're all due for that

Someone will hire him. I heard the same "can't hire Petrino" **** when I was calling for him.

The last several years these same posters said that we had slow players on defense and bunch of JAGs on the defensive line. Now we have a "deep" defensive line with NFL talent and the defense is swarming.

Hire Briles and make him pull a Billy Bush and donate part of his salary to a women's advocacy group. Make the announcement at a tearful press conference where he thanks Blak, Julio, and UM for giving him a shot.

I don't think Briles is that far-fetched. I think Richt realizes he is costing this team games.

They won't be playing on Sundays because from the games i see they can't do it on Saturdays, maybe on a rooster, but starting or playing? It's not bashing them either for some reason or another plays are not being made when they're presented.

Here are 6 plays that were fairly routine plays that should have been made, but our team didn't make them:
1. Richards open deep, can't hit
2. Njoku open with 20 yards to run after blocked FG -- Dropped. Instead of 1-10 around midfield it's 2-10 at the -28 (DRIVE KILLER)
3. Williams dropped pass in the flat with room to run. INstead of 1-10 on +35 it's 2-10 on 50 (Drive Killer)
4. Richards 12 yard drop on first down in rain which followed a drop earlier in drive. Instead of 1-10 on about +45, it's 2-10
5. Final drive of game. Need to it stay alive, this is the definition of big time spot right. Our LT gets absolutely blown by, by a reserve kid who barely plays. QB can't get to the top of his drop before he is already having to adjust.
6. 4-1 is a badly thrown ball that is a score. And a great play call.

We can go back to the FSU game and see this as well. You can't win when you can't execute. Coaches call plays, players need to execute. However i do understand that we are in an era where there are some really good play callers out there that seem to create something every play, but i also see Lane Kiffins kids coming up with the routine play just about every time as well.
