If ND gets blown out...

ND just got blown out in the ACCCG and Kelly got rewarded with a playoff berth and ACC Coach of the Year award. It kinda seems like he's teflon.
Kinda seems like he was undefeated including a win over a Clemson team that seemed unbeatable. Remember how we couldn't do anything with them offensively or defensively? As much as I hate ND, it was pretty much universally accepted that they were a top 4 team. Who else should go ahead of them? A fraudulent Texas AM?

Who would get absolutely blasted by this fanbase, yourself included, for the results he's put up at ND.
Yeah, you're dead wrong. Follow college football a little closer. The guy wins 10 every year and has been in the playoffs 3 times at a program with admissions standards and an actual code of conduct for student athletes.

He's went 8-5 his first two seasons and had five years with four or more losses. He went 4-8 season in year eight.

He'd be getting excoriated on here with 15 new threads daily by people screaming for his head after this last Clemson loss.
You eat Manure's ***. Imagine what you'd be engulfing from a great coach like Kelly. You'd have every ******* full of his body parts or bodily fluids.

Remember the old days when an early season loss counted less than a late season loss? ND performed well enough through the season (we should be that good), but ****ting the bed badly in the ACCCG should have killed their CFP chances.

When we played ND in South Bend, there were fans rooting for them to lose hoping Kelly would be canned...but now he’s not getting fired any time soon

I don’t remember the lust for Kelly on CIS when we knocked their ****s in the dirt at Hard Rock.

Is Brian Kelly looking at getting eased out? Swarbrick (ND AD) is facing ND's contract with NBC expiring after 2025 and CBS loses the SEC in '24. Just enough time to get rid of Kelly and get Urban in place before negotiations get real serious...Of course, the 'Canes should work towards something like that when the ACC GOR expires but that's a different story.
When they get blown out!!

Go Canes!!!

You don’t know what I think about anything doofus.

But I am surprised you took a minute long break from mocking people with special needs to write this post.

Oh yeah almost forgot.

Merry Christmas and **** off imbecile. All your pencil necked chest thumping and you aren’t smart enough to get the point of what I posted.

This isn’t the old days. If it was then we’d still be good.

The majority of Clemson fans wanted ***** fired after he won 4 games then again after WVU put 70 on him. Now they love him.

Things change as we accumulate data. Not everything stays frozen in one moment in time. If it did then we could claim we’re way better than ND because we hammered them 4 years ago.

Agreed. Good thing for ND the fans that “saw everything they needed to see to know Kelly wasn’t the guy” got extra data points.

That and we’re not going to stop our posters from being envious of every other coach, at every school, at every level....

Any mathematical person worth their salt would know that data points have context.

-Kelly inherited a trashy .500 program of which he had nothing to do with it ever being. He wasn’t part of the .500 garbage that he inherited (hint hint). Diaz has already had like 5 program-definingly bad losses in only 2 years and no probation or sanctions to blame. This isn’t the Knute Rockne era, either: it is much more difficult for Notre dame to attract and keep players in this era than at any point in college football history.

-Kelly already had extensive success as a head coach and not just at one one place: he won national championships at Grand Valley State, was turning around CMU, and had Cincinnati as a top 10 team by the time he left. It would have been monumentally stupid to fire Kelly two seasons in to his tenure.

-even in his first two seasons he had improved the team a lot and was transitioning the culture. They had better records even. He played in the title game his third year. You could see an overall projection of the program getting better relative to what he inherited.

-it’s so funny to hear fans bring up hard rock to
Put him down, too. That was a great game for us but he still beat a ton of ranked teams that year and finished with ten wins with a brutally difficult schedule. He beat usc, lsu, nc state ( who finished ranked), lost to Georgia by 1 point, beat Michigan state who won 10 games, etc. what have we done as a program since hard rock? Or the 7 years prior? What has kelly done? Should we compare winning percentages?

giving Diaz more time by comparing him to a coach like kelly or dabo given the major issues that have existed under him after 2 years, is not a good comparison.

I don’t look for the ghost of Manny Diaz in everything or thread. He’s also not getting fired after year two.

or a way to defend other teams and coaches over Miami...

I don’t care the name of our coach, but it’s not great to have a new one every season, or game, or series....

If some ND fans had their way, Kelly would have been fired during our game in South Bend, or after one of the big games they didn’t win... now they are both in the playoff and one game away from losing another big game ..... which fans will ask if he is the answer (which may be ok)...

Which fans? Do you have a survey? Again you’re ignoring loads of context of what Diaz has already done in two years versus what kelly had done in two years as well as in his historical career.

You’re a bright guy. You know the difference between the lunatic fringe who wants a coach fired after the first quarter of his first game and those who have seen enough of an unproven guy, who was an integral part of the prior failed regime, after half a dozen dilation and curettage style performances from his team over two years.

Manure has put up more disgraceful and humiliating losses in two years than Shannon or Folden did during their runs here. This isn’t just losses I’m talking about; they’re gut jobs. Filleted. Disgraceful tank jobs where it’s obvious the players don’t give a fck about the HC.

You’re right though. He’s not getting fired after two years especially when the second was a hoodwink smoke and mirrors magnificent “improvement” over the first where he set the bar so low that merely showing up for most games would have been an improvement.

Already done in 2 years .... interesting... from 7-6 in 2018 to 8-2 in 2020...

Numbers are fun.

I hope Diaz succeeds because that means Miami succeeds meanwhile **** ND because they are ND...

If comparing a second year coach to successful veterans after they’ve been successful was easy in finding a good coach, then athletic departments across the country wouldn’t be firing coaches constantly...

Remember when there was no rationale behind that way of thinking? If a loss matters less early in the season, it should be the same for wins. I mean if we’re trying to use logic anyway...

Indeed. He’s not going anywhere and there will likely be a predictable drop off next year, depending on who leaves early vs who stays. What we need to see in 2021 is are those problems you mentioned gone.

The reality of CIS is a combination of that fringe plus their message board peacocks, adding in some shtick and antics and mix in some reasonable conversations and points.

Just curious, Why is the drop off next year predictable? I think it happens, but curious why you think it happens while also defending manny.
