Another lazy hire if it happens.
Really? Was the defense the problem on 4th and 17? Was the defense the problem on toney and hammonds big plays for touchdowns against Florida? Last I checked they were and the only reason Diaz got the job is the defense was supposed to remain elite along with the offense being fixed and neither has happened. So who’s fault is that? Go pump sunshine somewhere else bud because what we all saw this Saturday was ******* unacceptably plain and simple. There’s no defending the atrocity that was this past Saturday’s game.
No, they about about 10 a year. But they cumulatively affected the 85 man roster also. After three years of penalties we could only have 54 scholarship players. Once penalties were removed with the 25/year limit, it took several years to get back to 85. That's why he had to get creative and put redshirts on a track scholarship.
Go back to Canespace with all the other blind dumb@ss sunshine pumpers.4th and 17 was this Saturday?

I'll make it even simpler for you. Not only did the reductions affect how many you could sign each year, they also reduced how many you could have on the roster. That impacted the roster and depth for several years after.I’ll keep the math simple for you. We were under sanctions 95, 96 and 97. At that point players were recruited knowing sanctions and scholarship reductions were over.
A junior on the 2000 team did not play under sanctions.
Well just like In godfather 3 they always pull me back in and yes I didn’t watch Bethune but I tried to give them another chance and watched the atrocity that was this Saturday. But like they always do, they leave me disgusted! So the boycott is back on with a new plan. I will record the game and if we win and look good I’ll watch it. If we look like the same crap we’ve looked like the last 15 years then I’ll be hitting delete on my DVR. LolLmao. Keep the games you don’t watch anymore straight will ya?
Hiring Mario away from Oregon wouldn’t be a lazy hire if he wins a PAC12 title or two. And if that happens, I doubt Oregon would let him go over money. And I am not a Mario fan, by any means.
But that said, who in your opinion would not be a lazy hire?
FactsJimmy Johnson quote: sometimes X's and O's get so complicated, and a coach gets so into that that he forgets the most important thing is players win ballgames
better percentage then Manny stillThere's a 1 in 20 chance we'd get to 10 wins.
It's not a question of who but a question of how. To just pick Mario strikes me as if the hiring manager (AD) is thinking (a) he's a "Miami Guy", (b) he knows the program and the area, and (c) we're comfortable with him. Not a lot of thought or effort going into it. It may work but it may not.
A real effort would consist of doing the hard work and being somewhat introspective about what made Miami work. What differentiated Miami from all the others. What about it's culture that made it happen. Then doing a gap analysis about the current state of affairs. The results of that gap analysis would identify the attribute needed to set things right. That would in turn define the search requirements for the next candidate. All of this should be done before you even consider a candidate.
Once you sense that thing are going south, you need to get your antenna's out there quietly looking for candidate that fit the profile you've already defined. If you don't do that, you tend to skew the requirements to match the candidate. Also, it's already too late to begin the search once you're forced to fire someone. At that time, it's a mad scramble, an arms race at the end of the year when everyone else is looking.
I read a article about Sam Jankovich that during his travels around the country to conferences and what not, he said he came across Dennis Erickson who impressed him. Even though he had JJ, he made a mental note that he was someone he had to keep an eye on. When JJ left unexpectedly, he already knew who he wanted.
I know that's an awful lot of work to do up front before there's even a need to make a hire but that's what it takes to be prepared and not look like a fool. If I'm the AD, I'd also begin the process for Larrinaga. Not that I want him to leave, but at his age, he's going to retire sooner than later. It's what wasn't done when Morris left. I'm not confident that Blake James is up to the challenge.
and didnt win **** with it
this is all pretty true. plus butch loves hood rats. he isnt recruiting chantz williams. he recruiting goonsDUDE guy gets it. Butch from what I heard had almost his whole staff ready to go same day if he were to be hired. I also heard that most of the big boy South Florida hs coaches were down with him getting the nod. For those who dont know thats a huge thing to have for our head coach.
Like many have stated his eye for talent was unreal and I feel strongly that right now at this moment we would be talking about being in the playoff discussions. One things for sure I feel 100% sure that we would not be starting 2 true freshman and 2 red shirt freshman on the o-line.
